man i swear there are some many ways to lift these trucks....i am a complete noob i come from being slammed on my honda civic. i want a 3 inch lift on my taco but i dont wanna spend alot of money on it. number one reason is that i have an SR 2.7 4x2 i will not be doing any off roading at all but i want that type of lift on my truck. I know this has been asked and answered so many times but can some one break it down to detail on what i need to achieve a 3 inch lift? I do not wanna do spacers thats for sure. I am looking for the most economical set up out there same as quality. Thanks.

Has anyone dealt with the front diff growl yet? Mine has done it since the 2" front lift and I'm going to install the bushing next week but most vendors haven't reported any 16's even trying the bushing yet.

The roller bearing culprit is the same part number as the 2nd gen so it will probably work, but I find it surprising that no one else is complaining about the diff growl yet.

Hard to say. Truck came from the dealer with a spacer lift so I wasn't able to get any stock measurements beforehand.

The truck belongs to another member on here, we just did the install at my place. Hopefully he'll post some more pics since I don't have any more

Need some help with a vibration. I just recently have some 5100's put on the off my Taco to level it. After I Had them put on I have this vibration that sounds like a slight roaring sound. It sounds like whomp......pause, whomp..... and so on. I took it back to the place that put the struts on and they said need alignment. Took it had alignment done all for tires reblanced. No one can tell what it causing the nose.

Toyota trucks have been plague with this, not all trucks have this vibration, only happens after a lift, poor front end differential design. Generally to solve the problem you need to swap out needle bearing on the driverside, clamshell bushing contact eastcoast gear, I had the same problem on my 2015 taco, just bought 2016 mgm taco, I want a lift but don't want the vibration.....

I work at a Toyita store and we are working with Toyota to get them up to speed on the clamshell beating upgrade. I will me doing my 2016 next week as I have the vibration also. We have lifted many 16's and have the same problem we are in it! I will post Toyotas response as soon as I know. We are hoping they will adopt the beating as part of standard production.

I hope you mean bearing and not beating, I really don't want my as kicked......please let us know and how they propose to fix the problem I want to lift my 16 taco but I'm reluctant to do so because of the vibration issue

They are wrong, there is lots of info on front in vibration after a lift, when you shift to 4 high vibration goes away, if it were the tires the noise would continue

Here are a couple of examples of lifted Third Gen Tacoma's my local dealer had on hand, really liking the limited with the TRD wheels.

Just so we are clear, my noise is happening under normal driving conditions, not 4x4 operation. Are we talking about the same thing?
