Snagged a few scale accessories to add to my truck. An extinguisher and a pickaxe got zip ties on. Gonna try to find one of the gift card toolboxes at home depot in the morning. Didn't finish any of the courses at the comp tonight but had a great time and learning everyouting

Found one at lowes. Relocated the fuel cell a bit forward to rest on the posts. Installed the tool box where the fuel cell was, just dropped in at the moment, needs some screws to hold it in but will need a support backing to keep from tearing through the flatbed. I believe all the opening and closing will be too much stress. I also need a longer stud for the spare mount. It can't lay flush like it did prior to the fuel cell moving forward. It holds the jerry can and a rope at the moment. Not bad so far 3a4735cfdb551cdd6ea1d2625e37b415_d28d3bdbbc9cd63c238e53e6bcc4ab1633c976ec.jpg

So what exactly is the deal with scale looks? I find it kind of cool how realistic you can make them, but certainly not cool enough to spend any money on it. I find it to just be extra weight and work...

I love the scale look! It's just fun.. Piecing it together, collecting the parts.. Its like legos, or HO trainsets to me.. Love the attention to detail

I don't have an answer for what's the deal other than you can set one up just like a 1:1 fullsize. Maybe you'd like a clone of your truck or maybe you want to go a different route. I like having something similar and it gives me something to do on Fridays besides the bar or sit on the couch. I also like to mess with stuff but can't all the time due to living circumstances and a bad back. I can stand inside where it's warm and work on this from November til July when the snow melts and the trails open.

The truck cost me nothing. I have become emersed however since it arrived on my doorstep and the mod bug bit

Lol, always have two models on the kitchen table thru the winter to keep me occupied.

Consider making your own servo winch yet? Could be a fun little mod.

It all comes from Scale comp rules.... Sorrca is the group who defines the rules. The general idea is that the more realistic your rig is the less it will be able to perform. Thus scale points are applied to a driver's score during scale comps.

Edit: If you ever get a chance to attend a large national scale event, do it! The rigs are just plain insane. The rules make a lot more sense after seeing what those guys build.

I got a axial wraith with just about everything upgraded. Onlything left plastic is the transmission houseing. Going to order a vanquish wraith houseing for it. It's running hd steel gears with locked up rc spools on vanquish currie axles powered by a Roc412 2300kv and mmp esc with a castle bec and 600oz servo.

You mean next to the green bronco? That's a chuckworks srrx. In the photo above there's a green yeti body/cage just resting on top of it so it looks a bit weird... This is it in action. U4 srrx.jpg

    Same width but longer wheelbase.
Different tranny but pretty much the same final drive ratio.
Rtr motor is a 35t the wraith had a 20t
    rear end has trailing arms
It's basically a yeti rear end and tranny, wraith front end, and a whole new cage/body...

Nice... I took my wraith and turned it into a crawler. It does really well.
