    Just changed my oil... Y'all seen this? I picked one up (the oversize size) since the Toyota parts place was closed. I'll have to order a 5 pack of OEM filters soon. This one was $11.99 at advance. Not going to lie, the damn packaging got me. And the filter media being synthetic.

    Right around 2300 miles. The parts I pictured were the new ones. All OEM stuff.

    Its difficult to determine what exactly happened. Obviously the bearing failed and some of the pieces from the bearing crunched the the other pieces. That might have taken out the seal or the seal may have failed first, causing the bearing failure. Doesn't really matter at this point.

    IMO the hood mount is the best location for overall range of broadcast and reception as long as it is well grounded. I've wheeled with a few guys with 2 footers in that location. Did you get an SWR meter on it yet?

    By popular demand, moved light bar. It lines up nicely with the headlights in this position... thanks for the recommendation. I bought a knock-off light from Amazon and I definitely don't regret it. The reviews were good and it is only $36. This thing is intense and puts out way more light than all my other lights combined and all the LEDs work (so far). I did partially disassemble and added silicone sealant to end caps and front lens. We'll see over time but at this point it is an inexpensive way to upgrade lighting.
