Its a bummer that people sign up and dont follow through with their end of the deal. It sucks that some people seem to be being douche bags trying to get free stuff.....Hopefully they are blacklisted for future secret santa opportunities

That said, PM me if i can be a backup santa

gonna add my .02 Unless you are dying in the hospital, you made a commitment and if you can't follow through, you should contact the organizers and let them know..... Shouldn't make them track you down.

Still patiently waiting :) I'm not too worried about it, I like giving the gifts more than receiving. I have found that I am very good at stalking people lol

I received my name 11\15, 10 days after receiving the worst news of our lives, and was still going back and forth to the hospital every day for yet another week. From there, my days were packed with "caregiver" and "new resident" chores, without having any friends or relatives in our new state to help. Though it was close, My giftee received his package on time. I realize there are worse situations than mine, but that's still a month and a half notice!

I hope things are looking up for you now.

I realize it's a month and a half notice - but if one was to lose their job, has unexpected medical expenses, it could be hard to send a gift

Agreed, but, all they would have to do is send in a note as to their circumstances, this forum and messaging is free

Yeah we all have bad situations in our lives. I mean damn mines been pretty bad lately...lost a great grandmother a week before Christmas and now just lost my other great grandmother last Wednesday. Just let people know you can't send anything because life has got in the way, we're not going to be upset and we will be more likely to help you out. But not saying anything is what makes everyone get upset and that's when we have to get SS to come in and help send stuff to others...
