    It's a piece of cake. Takes less than 10 minutes to swap out. Took me longer than that to find the few tools I needed.

    I wonder if welding on the axle hurts the grease on the inside?

    There no grease inside the tubes.. if he welded near or on a bearing race it might be another story.

    As long as you don't weld on/near the pumpkin where the oil is or where bearings are, you should be fine.
