Rear speakers

I bought a 2105 extended cab TRD. I was tuning the radio and realized there are no back speakers. Did anyone install them and how was it done? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Where did you mount them?

 

My old 2008 used to have speakers in the access cab doors but somewhere along the way they cheaped out. I would bet the cut out is still in the doors today even though the speaker is not but you would have to either use the earlier style door panels or add some grills.

 

I ran wires and cut out the door panel. I'm not home or I'd post a pic. Maybe I can in a couple hours when I get home

 

Do they even have radios in 2105?

Actually, if it's th same as the '13, you do have rear speakers of sort, they're just in the headliner...believe it or not.

 

Yeah those were funny when I found them. They do much of nothing

 

I had my door panels off of my 2103 and there is a place inside of the rear doors for speakers and there are in fact "sound stimulators" in the head liner. So I was thinking of you get speakers that fit the rear doors and just extend the wires from the headliner to the new speakers. If you set the fade all the way to the rear you can hear the headliner singing so I'd imagine it would work with normal speakers

 

You kinda just have to run new wires but with the factory head unit the back ones are tuned way down so they won't have to much output. But they still will put out a little if you have anyone in the back of out tiny access cabs

I think I got ahead of myself with the 2105 model year, but, as you figured out, I meant 2015. Thanks for the advice. I this point, I'm not sure what I am going to do but improving the radio and the front speakers might be the way to go.
