Well..now what's the next course of action, besides replacing it? feedback please

 

Drive it til you get the parts and replace it?

 

I don't think that's recommend
Plus I think most of the differential fluid is gone. I don't want to burn it out

 

Man... That's what I'd call one of those, "Well just fuck me", situations.

 

how the eff did diff fluid get inside the cv boot. You sure thats diff fluid? and not just warm runny grease?

 

I highly doubt that's diff fluid. I have driven trucks and cars with busted cv boots for hundreds of miles with no issue other then the grease splatter everywhere. That being said, I wouldn't keep on driving until you fix it asap.

 

Smh. Sorry a friend posted for me & he obviously doesn't know what he's talking to about. It's just grease. I'm gonna replace tomorrow after work

 

Getting replace tomorrow. Won't be driving Until it's fixed.

Can't tell you how many times I've heard the "I was hacked" or "an intern posted it" excuse

 

If you're doing it yourself, get a good pry bar to get the axle out of the differential. They can be a sloot.

 

Yep, good LONG pry bar. One of mine came right out, the other side required a trip to harbor freight.

the key with the CV's is position. The C clip that holds them in place needs to have the opening facing down for it to come out easily. So try to pry it out, if it doesnt go, PUSH IT BACK IN, so there is not pressure on the c clip. Rotate it a sixth of a turn, give it a lil tap to the c clip falls down n try again. If it doesnt work repeat the process. There will be one spot where it literally pops out almost too easy.
