NW WA Meet / BS Thread

Yup. Just renewed my permanent resident status for another 10yrs. In hind sight, I should have just started the citizenship process. I've been here since 93, I was 10yrs old.

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, so I'm a citizen of the UK/Great Britain.

 

SO wanted to steal one! Those things are PLUSH!

If you have the bucks, it's fun to do... Once... BTW the Bearfoot Bistro next door is awesome. Pricey, but hey, it's Whistler.
We have done a couple trips where we rented a large house right under the Blackcomb gondola, about 300'feet up the hill from Pan Pacific. Cost about $1K per day, but divided by 8 people.. You can't get a 6 motel for that! We cooked breakfast, and a couple dinners, and it was pretty reasonable for a super nice vacation! Many card games. Many shots. Much fun! Plus we bring saline IVs! No hangovers! Awesome!

North end snow run

When: Saturday Jan 16th
Where: Darrington, North Mountain (FS road 2811 towards the watch tower)
Meet up: Safeway in Arlington 9am (the one off hwy 9 20500 Olympic Pl, Arlington, WA 98223)

You must be willing to air down to at least 15psi if not lower and have good tires, there will be a lot of snow. It will help a ton if you had OBA so I'm not the only one.. There is a GB going on right now for it

That looks like it'll be a fun time! I should have KO2s on the truck by February, just waiting on SCS wheels to show up from overseas. I'm not willing to risk that kind of snow with stock tires, even with the OR 4x4.

You guys can do a run on MLK day too but thats the limit I want on trucks going. Don't want it to be a winch fest. Plus turning 10 trucks around will be a challenge in itself..

 

don't remember ever regulating attendance in prior meet ups,, new thing i guess

last i checked, meet and greets where all about a bunch of people with the same interests going out and experiencing "the journey" together..

That's exactly what it's about. Getting out on public land (emphasis on public) and having a good damn time with some like minded dudes. If you can turn 1 vehicle around, you can turn 10 vehicles around. If you can turn 10 vehicles around, you can turn 11 vehicles around.

Lets not start making these trips into something more than they are. It's a forest service road, and he's not driving an X-Runner.

I may show up cuz I want my headlights and romping thru the snow is always fine.

If I could recommend something, y'all have a week. I highly suggest doing something with your ABS if you don't have a factory locker. Almost rear ended Chandler last trip.
