I've been doing 4x4 with singles on Monday, and volume on Fridays, which is basically what I've been doing on chest. Haven't been doing pyramids on squats, but I've been doing sets of 10, followed by pause squats on my volume day.

5x5 has squats M-W-F and makes you increase the weight 5lb each day unless you failed the day before. I liked it since it forced me to move up. I got bored with the whole 5x5 program but I'm going to incorporate the squats piece into what I do next

Well, school starts back today, so gym time is gonna be harder to come by. I'm going to try to start going before work on days I don't have school (Tues & Thurs) and then go on Sat and Sun, too. I'm the furthest thing in the world from a morning person, so we'll see how it goes. I'm not liking the odds

Yeah, I've still been meaning to do that! There's time for me to get in the gym. My problem is that I need to read on the days I don't have class & I have have zero motivation to do so after I work all day and then go to the gym afterwards. I'm thinking if I can go to the gym, then go to work, I'll be more likely to come home and read. We'll see.

Bribe yourself Zach. You have to read half of it before going to the gym and then the second half will go by quick when you get done.

After a week or so of getting up early, it becomes easier.

I think 21 day thing is not long enough to make something a habit, let alone change the clock of your body to accept 5am workouts. I always say 100days for accept true habit to start forming.

I have seen 'science' that says 28 days is the # to make something a habit. I have done things longer than that though that I end up dropping or grow tired of trying. If it was waking up at 5:30, I'd quit after the first day. I don't do mornings. I'm lucky I can work from home so I can sleep until 9:25am and still be at my desk by 9:30am and 'on time' for work

I've been hearing that for years and still don't find it to be true lol

Luckily, my gym, home, and work are all within like 2 miles of each other, so I can go to the gym from like 6:30-7:15, go home and shower, and be at work by 8. Another positive will be me being able to get in and out with no bullshit. In the evenings, I run my mouth too much. I'm sure in the mornings, I'm not gonna wanna say a word to anyone lol

21 should be all he needs for this goal or task but anyways ... no point in arguing about it

Well, it's not like I'm forming a completely new habit. I go to the gym regularly already, so worst case scenario is I sleep in and just go to the gym that afternoon lol.

I think I'm going to try putting my phone on the other side of the bedroom so I actually have to get out of bed to turn my alarm off. Once I get out of bed, I'm good, but it's just that initial start I get stuck on lol. What's sad is that I can hop out of bed like a kid on Christmas at 5:00 am to go fishing or hunting...anything else, I'm like a zombie

See, that's what I'm shooting for. There's nothing like waking up early and getting shit done. My only fallback is that I'm gonna be in class until 9:30 pm 3 days a week, so I might have to walk around with an IV full of pure caffeine
