Bilstein 5100 w/ OME 885

Alright so i just ordered bilstein 5100 and ome 885 coils for the front with a 1/2" spacer and i was wondering what clip or setting i needed to set the bilstein 5100's at to give me a full 3" lift. Thank you

 

0 (bottom) Doesn't matter if you want 3" or not. With 5100s and 885 coils and up, you don't put them on anything but the bottom setting.

 

There are several folks who adjust them to the 0.85 setting without an issue. I've personally installed this same set-up and there's no issue at all (coil binding is not a problem nor possible). The only down side to this is you are preloading a lift coil so it can stiffen up quite quickly. Though when you consider the difference between using the 887 coils with the shocks at Zero and 885 at 0.85 there's minimal additional preload with the 885 combo so quality of ride is pretty much the same between the two.

That said you will gain just over 3" of lift doing the 0.85 setting (assuming you have a double cab 4x4).

Do you have a double cab 4x4? Lift height will depend on vehicle weight and from model to model weight does differ, just keep this in mind.

Leave shocks at ZERO setting. The 1/2" plates with the 885 coils will get you to about 3.5"

 

Buy the proper coil for your wants.

Are you saying that with the top plate and at 0 setting it will give a 3.5" of lift or were you saying if i had them on .85 with a top plate it would give a 3.5" of lift?

 

Your gonna need ucas at 3+ Indus of lift. I would suggest not going over 3. If you do get a diff drop. Over 3 is scary.

 

I would recomend Bilstein 5100's set at "0" and put OME 885's on.

I just had Bilstein 5100's set at "0" and OME 885x's installed 5 days ago. The front of my truck went up 2 1/2 inches like expected. If it went to 3" or over I would have needed UCA's ect.

My truck rides better, stiffer in front not soft and when braking there is no dipping forward. I love it.
Off road is great and comfortable.

This is the recommended setting for the Bilstein 5100's set at "0" and OME 885x's.

I know I am safe at this height and will not damage anything or my warranty.
For me it just makes sense.

I agree completely that is the set up I am going to go with as well I don't want new ucas and I want a good alignment so 2-2.5 is what I am aiming for.

If it works I think I decided to use 5100s with ironman coils. Billies set at 0 with these should give 2 inchs of lift. Any thoughtS?

I dig it.. When these stock BFG's wear out I will just put on a taller tire. BFG KO2's 265 75 16 's .. It will have a little more clearance and be good to go..

 

How do you like your suspension setup? hows the ride with the AAL?
thinking of doing the same setup with a Wheeler's Progressive leaf pack

 

It rides fantastic. It is nice on road and off road. I like the braking. It does not dip down when braking like the stock suspension. It rides firm but does not jar your kidneys like some trucks.
Going over speed bumps and ruts is no big deal..

 

Any top plate spacers?
