What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

If you wanna pay me like $5 that's fine. I've been running the same CB setup for a while. So I won't have much use for it after I swap my coax cable.

 

I'll pay for shipping?! If that's fine! And what coax are you gonna run now I am wanting a good one and have a good one reccomended from another member but just curious what you are going to?!

 

Not me or my truck but I saw a first gen prerunner towing a boat that had the tow hitch assembly pull out of the frame and dump the trailer (with boat on it) on the off ramp.

I got a TruckSpec mini-8 cable from the truck stop. It was expensive but it's a lot thicker and has soldered ends (which I have been told is good) and its 18 feet long which is what Firestik recommends for its 3 foot antenna. With the RadioShack cable, I couldn't get my SWR lower than 2 or so, so I bought this cable in hopes I can get it a little lower.

 

Damn it's supposed to be around 1.5-1! I got mine at the local truck stop too! I'm gonna return the cheapo I got and see if they have anything else that is better! If not I'm going to get the one m3bassman reccomended off rightchannelradios.com

 

2 is considered okay but not great. 1.5 is usually what most people will get out of a good setup. 1 is almost impossible to achieve for a vehicular CB lol

 

Aahhh I see! Well just tell me when you ship it or I can pay you before it's whatever man!

 

Finally got the shocks mounted. Thanks again to Brian at ADS. Everything went together perfect

Washed the road salt off of it, fluid filmed the frame (again), did some paint touch up. And changed the oil.

Any one had trouble with the parking brake being froze?

 

Yep, smoked my rear pads and the heat from that roasted the rear wheel bearings. Fix it before that happens!

 

The edges of the corners need to be black.

How exactly do you fix it? Spray some sylicon wd40 on the cable and grease all moving parts?

 

Lots of people are using the FrostKing stuff (check first page of threads in this section). I bought some second hand FatMat a long time ago from a friend who had extra left over. Works pretty well.. only thing I don't like is some of the plastics rattle against it. So I may put some thin felt between the mat and the plastic pieces if I get extremely bored.
