This is my truck with Dakars and a 225lb shell.

    884s with no spacers.

I'm at 2.5" and 2.75" front and rear.

His access cab 2.7 4x4 weighs pretty much what my double can 2.7 Prerunner weighs.

So his lift would be similar to mine.

Realistically without a constant load in the bed, a full Dakar leaf pack is going to be too stiff for a daily driver if you're driving much in your commute.

It's nice on my truck, but I have 225 lbs on them at all times.

You'll want to remove one of the leafs if you don't have a constant load in the bed, whether it's a shell or something else. With 884s and a modified leaf pack you'd probably be level or close to it with a little rake, probably level with 885s if that's your flavor - but I would expect 2.75-3" out of the Dakars (full pack) and with your configuration with 885s I'd expect 2.75-3" of front end lift.

2.7s respond much differently to coils than V6s do. My springs settled at 2.5", they were 3" for over a week after install, and I'm on 884s.

I vote Bilstein 6112's in the front (those come with springs and many different lift options) with 5100's in the rear and the dakar pack.

X8 on OME setup. That will be what I go with when I lift it, no doubt.

So with a 4.0 and 4x4 I would want to go with the 885s, yes?

Sorry for off topic, but that Snugtop for SB is 225? Did you actually weight it yourself? Seems on the heavy end. @DCSBFTMFW

I emailed SnugTop with my model number off of their VIN plate. 225 lbs in my config per their rep.

Seems a little heavy to me too, I think my Leer is 180-200. I've put it on and off once by myself and it was at the limit of what I was physically capable of doing, was real dumb.

For a 2.25 lift, yes. If higher, add top plate spacers or get 887s.

No 2.25 would be perfect. I really just want a bit more capacity in the rear as I have a campershell on occasionally with camping gear, so I thought the Dakars would be a good fit. And then I'll need to get rid of the rake.

When I lifted my used Leer on with the seller by hand, who was not a big dude by any means, I really had to focus on keeping control of my sphincter as it tried to cut my fingertips off.

Haha yeah it's scary. I lifted mine off and set it on saw horses, put it back on in reverse.

OME 887s Dakar Leafs, SPC UCAs, Spidertrax wheel spacers, Kenwood touchscreen, diff breather mod, Magnaflow 22in. muffler, AFE Pro dry S air filter, secondary charcoal filter delete. Soon to come Warn M8000 winch on a a Westin winch trey, full retros with demon eyes
In the winter I have 280 pounds in sand bags in the bed, in the summer its empty. Ill pull snowmobile and jet ski trailers, so I think it would be better to go heaver with the leaf set up rather than lighter.

Mine is awkward to lift for the same reasons. I wouldn't even try it by myself, and I'm fairly large.

My dad tried to help once and couldn't muscle it.

FWIW, I had a hard time getting this 1951 Chevy roof on top of my roof rack with my lift height and it's comparably massive size and weight, and extreme awkwardness of trying to not destroy something 65 years old by dropping it - and I did this by myself.

The shell is substantially more difficult to move, and this roof pic speaks for itself.

Night time doesn't look so bad.
    image.jpg

Then morning comes and I don't have a clue how I managed to get it up there by myself.
