Joint is used on front of rear shaft on 3rd gen 4Runner and front driveshaft on 79-95 trucks an 4Runners, IFS trucks didn't have the range of motion the ealier ones did, but they can be clearanced to work

If it is the ball I guess we can always add more grease, if we missed it that will cover it, if not grease until the ball falls out? lol

Exactly. Just sounds like my jeep buddies did when he didn't grease the ball.. it required a needle type end and it still ended up clunking because bad pinion angle

I'd be surprised if greasing anything at this point will "fix" anything, quiet it maybe.
If you look at the driveshaft and it is original, you will notice ALL the fittings are in line down one side of the shaft ( slip yoke fitting is easiest to see) turn shaft to one position and all fittings are accessible with out having to wrestle around

If slip yoke seems dry, pull driveshaft end and separate then grease the splines, just pumping it full of grease can blow the end cap out of the yoke, then it won't hold grease at all, 4-5 pumps is all you should ever push into slip yoke

Really? Mine does but not enough to starve the motor, I saw a write up somewhere where a guy did some bracing on the inside with some type of wire fence
