    It's all in the prep lol.... that and I had a buddy who'd been through the song and dance leading the way on the trimming. Actually it's funny cause I got the body lift the make the bumpers work not the tires... I bought them used off thekernel

    Yeah found 1 local for reasonable price, just got too much other stuff I'm trying to finish first, I'll probably have room for j pattern if I swap in bucket seats, cause reg cab.

    I'll post some pics of mine but cutting like the FJ's is the best route.

    Help me wrap my mind around wheels for a second. I've got 17x9 - 4.5 bs and rub the frame closest to cab. Just need 1/2" clearance so would a 17x8 with same bs do that (thinner by 1") or should I just look for 4" bs? Can only find a couple in 17x8 - 4" bs one of them being steel.

    King ext travel coilovers, Icon tubular UCA's Rear-King "Tundra" 2.5's, Allpro Expos, TRD cat-back, Hurst/Core short shift kit, etc...
    You would have the same problem with a set of wheels with the same backspacing. You will need to look for wheels with less bs.

    Yeah but...less backspace pushes the wheel out wider which creates a wider scrub radius and puts you right back into rubbing even with a narrower tire.

    That's what I thought but in theory wouldn't a 17x8 be thinner than a 17x9??

    Rubbing isnt an issue......;-)

    8 <9 so no theory about it. The same backspace will put the inner wheel edge at the same position.

    Yes but if it has the same tire on it the difference in overall width of the tire is going to be millimeters...your not going to get away from rubbing until you :sawzall::welder::sawzall::itllbuffout:

    I've eliminated ALL rubbing except for the frame and don't want to run spacers.

    Sounds like 4" bs is in order......I've only found level 8 mk6 or fugly steel wheels. Any else off the top of ur heads?
