aaaaaaahahaha, that's funny right there hodgey!! Almost like you and I sitting in the back, on opposite sides of the table, having popcorn and listening to the discussion. Great hanging out with you, but I want to talk to Mike for a sec...........:)
Hello Mike, welcome to TW, great lookin rig you have.

You put great energy and effort into you post, and I believe you have a hunger for something more.....possibly just some answers.

Studying the Bible and the proof of its validity or non-validity(I know, not a word) is the first thing we should do.

I, as a Christian do not need to prove or give anything to you. My God does not need to prove anything either.

Remember that my beliefs and your beliefs are not up for debate.

My Father in heaven is always waiting for you to accept Him. He will not force Himself on you and I won't either.

If you ever have a desire to accept Jesus Christ into your heart, PM me and I would always make time to talk and/or pray with you.

Check this thread I have linked. Take some time and read the whole thread before you make a post. Something else I like to do is not make a post when my emotions are high, and wait until the next day or several hours later>> http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/17484-creationism-vs-evolution.html

You took me wrong. If someone ever wants to talk, I just want to be there to help. Many from TW have called me to talk about their church, about God, and other religeous topics. The reason I offer to talk is because I refuse to try and force feed my God on anyone.

What I meant is, that I don't have to prove their is or is not a God.

after reading over my post, I apoligize for the way I phrased my offer. It is misleading. I do know that we are all accountable to God and noone here on this earth. If someone is in disstress and needs to talk, I just want to reach out a helping hand.

I might as well jump into this one - just found it. I was loosely raised Catholic, but now in my adulthood I refer to myself as a realist. I don't preach my views to anyone, but when it's welcomed as in this post, I'm happy to participate. I don't fall into any of the 'traditional' categories, be it a formal religion, or a less-believing a-word.

When it comes to religion and faith I have none. I do not believe in anything. I do not believe there is a higher power/being/deity. I do not believe there is a heaven or hell. I do not believe in afterlife. I do believe that we are animals just like your dog or the bird outside the window. I believe when we die we are simply reduced to more matter in the ground - other than the fact that we go to great pains to preserve ourselves which is unfortunate because we are not continuing the process as we should.

I have no problem with believers or the faithful. In some strange way I admire them for believing blindly, without fact, and in other ways I am sympathetic towards them for believing blindly. I don't think the bible is fact, but rather the greatest work of fiction ever produced. Some feel anger towards me for these views, and others feel sorry for me. Please don't feel either. As many have said of themselves, I am (in my own opinion) a good person. I help others when I am able. I donate money to good causes, and stay strong in times of need. I think I'm a good son, brother, husband, friend and coworker, but I have friends that do not know my views because despite our relationship they would separate themselves from me if they knew my 'beliefs. And that is truly unfortunate . . . for both of us.

I must be confused, Help me out with this one

If there is GOD and you and many others have prayed to Him explain (calmly) why there is a need for REDZ CANCER FUNDRAISER according to the Bible

And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matthew 21:21-22 NAS)

key word, believing, take Matthew 14 for example
25During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.
26When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.
27But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
28"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."
    29"Come," he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
32And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

when you are christian, and truly believe in Jesus as your savior, great things can happen, amongst them healing, it is the human who fail the Believe in all the extent of the word, because our nature our heart is full of doubt. Now, HE is GOD and LORD, and he maybe has another plans, you don't know for sure what is the plan for every life, remember we all must part this life in one way or another....

    sorry for the long post

Certainly religion causes airplanes fly into buildings, not GOD, Jesuschrist is not a religion, Christianity is a way of life, is the way to let God take control of your life or at least try (we are not perfect ), see life is easier when we let God to be our governor and lord, is there bad times?? of course!, but he is my rock, have i doubted, yes! but his hand is always there for comfort, i know a lot of people don't understand this, but i give you another passage i like: Matthew 6

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]? 28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'

32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

33But seek FIRST his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

What are people's opinion of the couple that let their son die rather than seek medical treatment because they believed god would save him?

    like this story: http://www.philly.com/philly/news/h...g_parents_charged_in_death_of_infant_son.html

That it was his time? That the parents didn't believe enough? Or the son didn't believe? Just asking honestly because I can't imagine what that couple was thinking myself.

Its ok for you to feel that way its your choice, I choose this:

    john 1:12

12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

I choose to be his son

Yes there are many who think they know enough about their "religion" and what they spew is just wrong (not you TR3NT) that I have to take issue with what they say and try to give the right information,Or at least show them where to find it . Or both :)
