Easy enough as well to pull the swing out off the spindle. Will take some extra time, but will work if you really need the extra space.

Ended up returning the Cobra and ordered the Midland. The Anytone unit looked great- 8 watts was appealing. Decided that I like the handheld feature of the Midland though. Thanks for all the info!

 

I had the midland for the christmas tree run but thought it was kind of bulky. Just returned it and debating if I want to go with the Cobra 75WXST all in one unit or just get a cheaper unit and install a speaker somewhere.

 

Which model? Mine is smaller than my fist. Pretty compact. This is the one i use.

That was the one I bought. It worked well just wanted something where the hand held unit was a little smaller. Leaning towards the all in one cobra (this was my first choice but because I ordered last minute before the x-mas tree run, I went with the midland because it was going to arrive on time).

 

ah. Gotcha. Ive used the cobra handhelds before at work and was not very impressed. Hope your experience is better

 

What's your mission? I have to go to Sparks on Friday, but if your wheeling in the snow, I'd be interested in tagging along on Saturday.

 

just to go screw around and check out Tahoe for the day. Woman wants to see the snow and figured tahoe was safe enough that i could get there, around and back and have a little fun and get some pics. I got a friend coming with me as well to join in as well.

I checked that one (Cobra 75WXST) out at Frys. Much bigger & heavier than the standard mic. Not sure how it will compare to the midland. Mine arrives tomorrow.
I'll just be happy to be able to communicate with the front of the line. We had a 45 minute stop and didn't know what was going on.

If you are talking about the Cobra 75wxt. I had one. Good radio, easily able to remove it for theft purposes. You will need an external speaker. The speaker is small and can be hard to hear. Just remember your CB is only as good as your antenna.

 

i have that one and have used it about 10 times... it already took a sh!t on me

 

Damn! Hope i can get a few more uses out of it. Might have to look into something different
