I recently installed 5100's on all 4 corners with OME x885 coils set @ 0 on the fronts on my 2009 DCSB SR5 along with JBA std high caster UCA's.

It's a huge improvement over stock. Front end doesn't bottom out over speedbumps, and the 5100's dampen the ride pretty well at high way speed. The JBA UCA's got my alignment dialed in with plenty of caster.

I know I'm not LT, or a high end mid travel with remote reservoir, but what can I expect towards performance limitations off road?

Just curious how hard can I push this new set up?

How fast would shock fade set in on a fireroad?

Could I hit some moderate trails at a comfortable pace?

When you bottom out on the whoops or bumps, that's as fast as you can go. Any faster usually ends in breakage. Fade will take time enough to heat up the oil in the shock itself, reducing performance, eventually boiling the oil and making it airiated, and unable to damp the motion of the spring.

Has anyone ever sheared the snap ring off from a hard hit? The height adjustable 5100s make me a little nervous for hard wheeling.

    A 5100 isn't a race shock so don't use it like one.

    Use your head.

I don't think I've ever heard of that happening to a CORRECTLY installed seat/ring. If you're wheeling THAT hard you probably need to upgrade more than just your shocks.

That's what I was thinking. With the perch installed correctly it's going to take a serious amount of force and I'm thinking damage will have to occur before it gives out.
