Just have to point this out, but they absolutely do not have to prove any gains whatsoever. I'm an advertising guy, so I couldn't let this slide lol. Toyota (as well as 99% of performance parts companies) will advertise "up to XX additional horsepower". From a legal standpoint, this means it could net you ZERO additional horsepower, and they're still not technically falsely advertising, because they specifically say 'up to' instead of 'guaranteed XX additional horsepower'.

I have zero opinion on Toyota after-market products one way or another. However, from a purely legal standpoint, they can say 'up to 100 additional horsepower!' all they want, and it could net you zero horsepower, and they'd still be legally okay. It doesn't mean that's actually what you gain.

Yeah good points advertising people are as useful as politicians and lawyers lol. JK by the way, we'll sort of lol. The advertising did say improved and had a gain of 5-8, so something is improved by it lol. Cheers

I love it. It is cheaper than magnaflow or flowmaster options but definitely easy to install, good deep sound when on the gas but not a loud idle.

I prefer the deeper tone of Magnaflow though I must say that MBRP sounds good also.

I just put a TRD cat-back exhaust on my 2011 last week. I like it. it has a deeper sound but not overwhelming. I commute 70 miles a day and the last thing I want to deal with is an overly loud muffler. that's me, others are different. As for HP gains, don't count on it. My truck "feels" more responsive through the RPM range but I doubt there is a tangible difference in HP or MPG.

I am not sure how changes like a new exhaust or a CAI would make any difference without a change in programming. in terms of the CAI, if the trucks programming is controlling how much air the engine gets how does it make a difference what intake is on the truck? as long as stock can supply the needed air it would not matter what CAI is on it, its still going to get the air it thinks it needs.

if u dont believe in intake or exhaust working, then this should also include y pipe and headers as they are part of exhauast and as u put it depend on the ecu....... if thats the case talk to @Torspd @Lucario Runner , and follow the links on Tors signature

It'd be analogous to saying that increasing a cylinder heads VE won't show an increase in CFM.

I have a flowmaster with a turndown. It sounds really nice, throaty, deep, for me it's perfect. It makes it sound like a truck, exactly why I did it. Here's a pic0306ab4cc422847c0cb299267c0a9acd_f3b0f192ec5cfa12505b90d1b08b5650f7856ffd.jpg

What model is that, and do you have a video of what it sounds like, by chance?

I don't know the model actually. And this is the only video I have. It's not that good of quality. But I'll get another tomorrow and try to find out the model. https://vimeo.com/151486347

@AR15xAR10 How is that drone at cruise, though?

I roadtrip a LOT, and definitely don't want something that's going to make me raise my voice to talk to my kiddos in the backseat.

    Doesn't bother me at all.

This is me intentionally trying to create drone....it exists, but only when pulling hills or accelerating moderately/hard.

With the cruise on, during interstate travel, its quite calm.

    No problem, happy to help.

Wait, you have the 2.7? Might as well leave it stock :(

Pretty much anything else is going to make it sound like a Civic with a fart can :(

That I do... depressing, isn't it? I'm definitely going to replace the headers to lower the torque curve, so I'm trying to decide if I want to risk re-doing the entire system and just keeping my stock stuff on stand-by in case the 'fart can' issue arises.

I'm also considering a local dyno run place to document every step trying to upgrade the 2.7. It stems from @DCSBFTMFW telling me that the 2.7L is worthless to modify, which I instantly accept as a challenge. So, my checking account has James to thank for that.
