    New to TW, this is my first post. Dealers are still sticking to MSRP and even asking for 5k over MSRP. Looks like I'll have to keep waiting. If anyone knows of a dealer still making good deals I'd love to hear!

    Went to toyota of orange and got msrp for an SR 2wd with the convenience and satin wheel packages. I also went with the lease special the manufacturer was running at the time and also qualified for a $750 rebate so they took that off of the msrp. I paid $24,574 when everything was said and done. They're great there and don't try to screw you or sell you something you don't want. Ordered on 1/1 and my trucks set to be built end of jan or first week of Feb.

    Not great but I've been shopping around a lot and the best I've found is 1K over invoice at Toyota of Escondido, via Costco. If anyone has something significantly better please chime in as I'm about to order one.

    Pretty embarrassing buying at MSRP or more. Just being honest, there is plenty of profit @ invoice. I found Freeman toyota, Santa Rosa to be about $1000 off MSRP. If you want to travel, I hear West Toyota in Ohio will discount $2.5K - 3K , ask for Dean. Source: Somewhere in the 3rd gen MGM thread.

    Its not really but when I went to other dealers they were tacking on 2-4k on top of msrp and try to weasel other things on there so all considering I was happy paying msrp. I also know that I paid at the top of the car bubble but I don't really care cuz I didn't want to wait until summer.

    We bought at 500 under msrp. I feel for you. My car was dying so we sold it before we even ordered the truck. I didn't want to wait a year just to save 2000 dollars. Not worth it to only have one vehicle for that long.

    You can get invoice or below all over the East coast. It's easy to find people who purchased recently for invoice or less on South Carolina.

    Yeah same here wasn't worth it to wait so long considering I'd already waited a yr to pull the trigger on a new car. And yeah after reading a lot of posts Ive noticed west coast isn't as lucky with the deals right now. It's crazy how much of a proce difference between areas though.

    In a couple years people will be unloading these trucks because they won't be able to afford the stupid $600/+month payment for a vehicle...I'm waiting for this recession to kick in and score a deal. Don't be that sucker of the new hot thing. If you own a Tacoma and it's paid off keep it, and save. When the recession hits you'll be able to buy the Gen 3s much much cheaper.

    It's true. Patience does pay off. The out of state dealer quoted me $300 over invoice for a special order Costco deal, but I didn't like the TDA fee. If they won't absorb that fee, I going to wait for socal to get cheaper. 295,000 miles on my Gen 2 and she just passed smog

    We put just under half down on our 7568 so we pay less than 350 a month for 5 years. My wife's car payment is like 220. That's two cars for less than 600 a month

    You are an established adult with a good income/wifes... most millenials, or the age bracket that Toyota markets to aren't established, and really should be saving towards a house, not a $500+ month truck payment that depreciates. Nor does the majority have $20k just to drop on a down payment on a vehicle....

    Okay, so I opened a credit union account and searched a car through their website, an they basically offered me $1,000 below MSRP. So those of you who are bending over in Socal, you can get some lube through your credit union.

    Here is a email update from Toyota of Escondido as of today.
    I'm not sure if any one else in this area is receiving BS like this;

    "Hi Ryan, As of January 1st Toyota has put out a covenant to all dealership to abide by their strict pricing. Tacoma is and hs always been a very popular truck and the best selling truck. There is no need for us to discount the hottest truck in the market now or in the future. If you would like to discuss what trim level tacoma you are interested in I would be happy to go over pricing with you over the phone. Feel free and contact me anytime."

    I'll keep waiting

    I placed an order with this dealership last week. I was told from the beginning they will honor Costco pricing, and gave them a deposit. Did you submit a request through Costco?
