@allenfab Whats the dimensions of the steel tubing you use for your front frame? Also how many feet did you use? Any thing you would do different with the front frame chop (plateing, tips, anything?) Getting ready to do mine and want to get ahead of as many potential pitfalls as possible.

How are those front shafts that I sent you working out?

Great build. How did you bend these pieces? Also, how do you cut the radii in the end of the tubes for the cage? Thanks

Still only have one ride on it, still considering re-doing it. I think I mentioned before that I wish I mounted it more towards the middle of the truck (instead of on the outside of the muffler like it is now)

I should have some free time coming up soon, so we can work it out

2"x3" 3/16" rectangle tube. Without measuring, I would say 9' or so for the frame. I really wouldn't change anything, except for maybe notching the frame like a lot of the west coast guys do for panhard and drag link clearance to keep the truck lower and to have more up-travel. I still wanted a little but of height though, so those things weren't really needed in my case. The plating and everything else works great and I wouldn't change anything like that.

So far so good on the shafts! I only have one in at the moment on the passenger side but the other one is on standby for when I finally decide to order my driver side inner shaft.

I have a small press brake from SWAG Off-Road that is made for my 20-ton Harbor Freight shop press. For tube notching, I use a JD2 Notchmaster with 1.75" Lenox hole saws.

Cool thanks for the feedback! I keep going back and forth over ride height, on one hand i hate getting high centered, then again i typically find myself way off camber evreytime i wheel and i want to keep the stability i currently have.

    9. Passenger side frame.jpg Todd,
Are you talking of the panhard frame notching like I have?

Thats weird you dknt have the up travel space with the new front frame. I thought that was the advantage of doing it, well besides no grinding and cutting and welding plates on.

Even without the notching, I gained a little bit more up travel just from going with a new frame versus using the stock frame.

For my frame notching, I was able to retain both up & down travel yet keep the center of gravity low.
Frame height is not final but should be in the 23"=/- area on 33's.

You got me wondering what my frame height is. I remember measuring it but can't remember what it was.
