    3.4s are overbuilt little tanks but not power houses. But I think they have plenty of power for the work the truck can do. It's not a race car nor is it a half ton. It's only rated to tow 5000 lbs.

    There are people making HP in the 600-800 range on stock bottom end in the 3.4 cause they are so overbuilt from the factory, but it is going to cost you money.

    It would more then likely just be cheaper to fab an engine swap. LS, 4bt, 2JZ, and 2UZ are some of the most common. There are threads around too.

    Oh yeah. The 3.4 has forged internals from the factory. It is an overbuilt tank.
