Gave up skiing several years ago. Too expensive, and bad knees, and back. Snow Shoe as much as possible. Low key. Can take the dogs. One time investment in equipment.

 

My wife and I lean much more toward the introvert end of the spectrum anyway, especially when outdoors. Buying tons of gas and expensive tickets and waiting in lines....WTF.

my buddy has a property off of little lake road right next to the cal fire station basically you go up 101 and take the left at the first light and go down a few miles

Yep. It's great. And the ice cubes don't fly outta the glass like some other endeavors.

 

I here ya there. I ts getting way to expensive, and crowded. The only good time to go is mid week. That requires using vacation time, and with kids almost impossible.

 

I have a pair of snow shoes. Its a lot if work to climb a hill to go down in seconds. Plus the danger of avalanche, has keep me from going to big on the snow shoes. Its good exercise though.
