I'm glad your ride is quiet but a lot of people are dealing with excessive noises caused by wind. That is why there are like 10 threads on wind noise.

Dude, I hear you. I'm not immune from it either. But instead of starting 80 different threads on the same subject, use the search function, and find the thread. Simple.

Well, that's a refreshing thing to hear. Doesn't happen often on these boards. Thanks.

Yes, my seals were similar and if you would attempt to try and move the seals simply by lifting up with your fingernail, they would easily move.

Thank you for the spec on the bolts, I will check out the torque. The first time i brought it in they said i had washed away all of the grease from the springs!?! The second time, Toyota's answer was to wash it...it was dirty!!! They are killing me with their BS "chareteristic of the truck" responses as well!!

    Just an update.

I had my windsheild replaced, defective large cracked formed, and got it back today with a new windshield. I am monitoring it but I drove through some good wind on my way home were I normally experienced the whistle and sure enough, nothing.

The service manager mentioned they had this issue in the past where the factory didn't install the window correctly / factory issues. I am basically monitoring it for them and so far my first "test" passed. I as well had the rear cab door seal replaced but I don't think the noise is related because it was always in the upper left of the windshield or door area where I had the whistling on.

LAst week I said well, this ironically will be a good test to see if it is in fact a windsheild factory issue or a door seal. So far the windsheild is winning. I will repost back if I hear it again or what I would consider solved.

Did you have a 'problem' with windshield condensation?

No, I never did. Keep in mind I live in Canada and we have had some extreme weather changes from hot to cold quickly these days and not once has that happened. This is actually what I think caused the crack because it was in the morning when I heard it pop like a frozen lake cracking (if anyone has been on a lake and felt / heard it).

I never would have suspected the windshield other then the area I heard the whistle but I couldn't pin point it other then a general area to the upper left on the window / door area / upper left corner of the windshield. It was just dumb luck I had a glass defect and it got replaced. I will report here either way if it comes back or not, which could be a bit. I drive a security route home everyday and it's by the lake over a bridge that is always windy compounding with highway speeds and it happens on a regular basis so I should know fairly shortly.

I'm really interested in purchasing this truck...
But with all the issues (minor/major) I have been reading... hood vibration/steering wheel vibration and wind howl... I think I'll hold off.

I hope you're reading this Toyota, you're losing a customer (possibly more) without fixing these issues.

I had the whistle noise on the driver side with a strong crosswind as well. I failed you dudes by not posting my fix. I cut that little piece on the weather stripping and have yet to hear it however, it has not been very windy in Vegas lately. 1/16th mph wind out of the SW today and 190 degrees. Jk it was like 55 but I was wearing shorts in the middle of January. Lame.

I would take pics but I can't right now. Open your door and look at the rubber seal that's on the door. About 3/4 of the way down towards the review mirror there is a little rubber piece that crosses. Same area as in pic of post #70. I'll take pics and update tomorrow. I'm half asleep and 5 brews deep.

Happy to report the severe whistle/howl that occurred from 35-50 in my truck is gone.

Someone discovered the noise was coming from the holes on the bottom of the lower control arms.

Covered the holes with gorilla tape and bingo, noise is gone. Best mod ever!
