My wife borrowed the car today, when pulling into the driveway she noticed flames coming out of the drivers side headlight. The fire melted the hood cable, making it virtually impossible to open the hood. After putting out the fire from underneath the truck I was finally able to get a pair of vise grips to pull the cable from the inside.

After cooling off and taking a look at the aftermath I decided to call Innova Designs (the manufacturer of the Brite Box). Joel Toy answered the phone, after explaining what happened he immediately said that I would have to prove it was his headlight connector that caught fire and that there was no way I could. Not quite sure where this gentleman got his customer service skills, but I have vowed to NEVER purchase a product from here again. I was always taught to stand behind what I make or my work, I guess others don't see it that way.

Not feeling sorry for you. We all take a risk when modding our rides.

    Sorry, no sympathy here.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Is this the box that lets you use your brights and dims at the same time? Or is this the headlight mod that you take power straight from battery to headlights with higher wattage bulb? How long have you had the box in? Who put the box in? So many variables I would imagine it would be hard to prove one way or another who's at fault. I hope the repair is easy! Good luck!

This was a 100.00 box that I bought that lets the High beams and fogs stay lit at the same time. Working on loading pics

Where does it plug in? I thought those boxes plugged into the fuse box and just allowed the relay to open for the dims to go on at the same time as the brights.

This box goes in line with the drivers side headlight. You wire it up (fused) to the battery.

I got it from innova, but this is the same thing Wheelers sells.

I've seen them, I just assumed they plugged into the relays in the fuse box.
You'd have to get a electronics expert to explain and show proof why the fire was started. I'm sure it had to do with the brite box, but proving it is another thing. Good luck man!

Thanks! Fortunately it looks like its only the headlight, battery and hood cable I need to replace. I just posted a question regarding the hood latch cable. I can't for the life of me find anything online for a part#. Does anyone have experience with this?
