What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Thanks bud, TW is behind all my motivation and build haha. I had a 99' pre-runner before this current truck and that truck was bone stock (before I knew about TW) no build page yet but now that I have quite a few mods done maybe I should get one goin.

 

Well I'll be.... Never saw those on a Tacoma before.

Kind of cool. But I like the idea of being able to fold the mirrors in when you're on the trails. Sounds like WITS does too.

 

Mine is a TRD with power windows and door locks.... but no clock.

Mine doesn't have an ignition ring light, ashtray light or glove box light either.

 

I got key ring, power door/window, lights on glove box, ash tray though both lights are dead, dual map light on front and single on rear, clock, but no locker, well I have arb instead

Over winter break I wired an amplifier to my door speakers and added tweeters using 4Runner sail panels.





I also added a 32" light bar behind the lower grille in the bumper.







Lastly, I installed my new dash camera near the rear view mirror.

 

They still folded in just the mirror itself didn't have an electric actuator.

 

You can cut that fin thing on the bumper and it won't do anything. As in damage the bumper

 

That was the original plan, but the light output is great with the light bar hidden behind the unaltered bumper.

Forgot to post about this but my dash is complete. Color matched with green LED swap. With a new radio installed weeks ago.

Yes I was ready whenever you were.

 

Never seen green illumination before, so I'm not sure how I'd feel about having green lighting all the time, but damn does that look cool.

 

But when you add it it looks damn good.

Makes it so easy to start the truck in the dark now, ha.

If I remember correctly the 95.5-97 came stock with green and so did the 98-02 forerunners.


Also stripped one of my sliders last night. One more to go.

 

Any pics to show how you mounted it? That's where I want to put mine.

 

Is the ring pretty easy to add? I was in a junkyard a few months ago looking for a clear AC panel and stumbled upon the ignition ring so I grabbed it. Haven't really looked into installing it yet though.
