That's a lot for a 98' 4Runner if you're going by Blue Book. But I think it's a great deal myself. With my purchase price and the stuff I've bought for my rig...I'm already over $12,000 and I still don't have my solid axel done.

I'm sure he'll get his price....at least I hope he does!

Blue book sucks. Does take in the fact it's SC'd SAS and armored. He can pull the sc right now and sell it and it's parts for $2500 easy. Which is probably the blue book on the entire stock truck. Someone will buy it.

He's been trying to sell or trade it for a while. I did see a built up Jeep Wrangler tonight that blew past me tonight. Ended up parking right by it and the thing was built tastefully and Fox all around. Go inside to Five Guys and it was some girls who was wearing a King sweatshirt. Definitely didn't expect that.

Tried to buy his rear bumper from him when he first listed it for sale because I figured he'd get more from me then what a buyer would consider it worth. Wish I could've picked it up from him but understand while he held onto it

On his build, he mentioned be payed $1200 for it. I offered him $1000 and considered that a great offer, especially since it has the old twist in style locking swing out mechanism. The new ones have a clamp that's much easier and quicker to use

Wow...if he's had his for sale that long and no buyers...that tells me, I'll never be able to sell mine either(unless I give it way at Book value). Not that I want to sell mine or anything. Kinda makes me not want to put anymore money into my rig. Well...crap, like that's going to happen...hahaha!! I guess this just means I'm stuck with Sgt Yoda forever...and I can never sell her !!

    What if I did? :duel:

Haha, no I was just surprised as there aren't too many girls around where I live that actually know anything about trucks. Most that I've met will throw a lift and big tires and not know a damn thing about it (a lot of guys like that too like my neighbor). She obviously knew her stuff and wheeled the thing.

    LOL!

I think none of us paid bluebook. The bummer is that they made too many 3rd gens for them to ever be as collectible as an fj40 or cj5.

That's where I'm at. Once you put that much time and money into it, you're never going to have good resale value to make it worth it. It'll turn into my weekend warrior/beach vehicle after I get a DD

When you build a rig don't expect to get your money back.

I think eventually they will end up like the 1st Gen. The 3rd Gen with the E-Locker is a great base for an off-road rig, the 2nd Gens weren't as popular. It will get there eventually.
