I'm not a fan of duratracs. I've heard of a lot of people losing entire lugs and taring sidewalls really easily. They are very cheap and it shows! However, I have heard that they're a decent all around tire. They do well in mud and snow. But they ain't no Toyo!

I love my duratracs, been running them for a few years now. Work great all year and dont wear too fast either.

Thanks for the input guys. What would you say your driving is like? Mostly street or mostly off-road etc? For me it's gonna be 80% road, but I love the aggressive look of them

I plan on putting probably General Grabber AT2 tires on my next vehicle. Or whatever the cooper equivalent is. Those are supposedly a very good all around tire.

I'd run to a canadian tire and take a peak at the ones on the rack. Duncan also has a nice set of tires on his truck. Toyos of some variety I believe. May be worth a look.

Toyo Open Country C/T. Mine are 265/70r17. They are the Toyo competitor for Duratrac, they are winter rated rubber and pretty good all 'round tread. I have been very pleasantly surprised with the snow/slush/ice traction, and while they are no M/T (like Mitch has) they seem do to well off road in mud and all. I am not yet 100% sure I would not prefer to go with the M/T, but from my perspective the C/T is more than satisfactory.

I drive mainly on road, commute to work in city etc., but I have the truck because I need to be able to haul my canoe and backcountry gear down any trail when I do get the chance. I have driven ATV trails with no difficulty at all.

That's a joke, he's sitting on his frame there. 3 people in the bed didn't put the rear completely on the ground.

Duncan loves to take the hard lines. But atleast he didn't swamp his truck that day... thay would have smelled bad if you didn't take proper care of it.

Do you guys normally deviate from stock size? I'm at 265/70R16 right now, don't wanna throw the speedo off too much but +/- 2% isn't a big deal. It's mainly the width I'm wondering about.

if you off road then you'll probably want to bump up. I plan on running a 285/75 on a 4runner. I also plan on cutting and lifting stuff. not sure what your thinking there. Mitchs pic above us has 33's.

Truth be told I don't plan on taking this thing on many insane trails. I'm sure this is a poser-like thing to do (aggressive tires on a mainly road driving truck) but hey, it's my rig so whatever!!

nothing poser about that. A/T tires are good in the all weather. And you say that now, but then you'll do it once, then you'll get hooked. I said the same thing about my Tracker. 'Its just a beater to do some light trails in and something to drive in the winter'. Now I'm looking to sell the car so I can wheel harder and get to as many remote places as I can get to.

I loved that, and would get stuck there again in a heartbeat. Also I would get stuck in that other hole I was stuck in before!

Where else can I get stuck at?

I need a high clearance bumber...

you can get stuck in donnas hole or whatever the fuck the hole in the beginning of the pipeline is. its named. apparantly it eats engines so thats not good...

can confirm concerns, had a first gen frame failure. on the real though wheeling wont make it rust anymore I wouldn't imagine. Like youre gonna kill bearings and shit but thats really no biggie.
