It's not covered under the warranty but insurance seems to cover it. I removed the engine cover and can see droppings. It's likely this will all be covered under my deductible. All for 3 wires chewed.

Toyota won't even inspect to confirm a rodent chewing unless i agree to pay the price if it's confirmed to be a rodent incident.

 

I'm reading that because the ECU can't detect the knock sensor, the ECU goes into safe mode which lowers my MPG and I'll have a significant engine power loss. I can already feel the power loss.

That sucks and Is somewhat ok all at the same time. Atleast its not all out of pocket for you so there is somewhat of a break there

Change your spark plugs. It's cheap and did itnfor me when I had that code a year or two ago
