image.jpg I have a 1999 Toyota Tacoma that seems to have no power. At a light or stop sign even when flooring it my truck is very slow taking long to even hit 20. I'm thinking it could be the spark plugs and the wires.

6" lift on a 2wd, not sure if you're serious... You think it is a dog now, wait until you put a lift and tires on it.

Concerning power loss, check plugs, coil packs or rotor and distributer cap, I can't remember what the 99's had. Check for good fuel pressure at the fuel rails, look for faulty injectors, check fuel filter.

Automatic or stick? 4 or 6 cylinder?
I agree with Joe; if you think it's a dog now a lift and tires are not going to help things.

Yea I wasn't really sure about the lift either way but it's a 4 cylinder automatic. I'll post a vid very soon to further explain my situation. Basically it drives and performs well on 2 and L when I need them but on Drive it just seems like its on the highest gear all the time

4 cylinder automatics aren't going to set the world on fire with their acceleration anyway, but where yours is a 2WD it should at least have some pickup. How many miles on it? You may have a cat that's starting to cork. I had to replace one on a Nissan Hardbody at one point back in the day, and the difference in power was amazing. I mean, it was still a 4 cylinder dragging around an extended cab 4x4, but it was a lot peppier at low speeds.

Probably the reason it seems to have more power when you shift it manually from L or 2 is that you're holding it in gear for longer than if it was in D, which lets you get further into the peak HP for the motor. Automatics are designed with fuel economy in mind as well as power, so unless you've got it matted they're going to upshift to try to maintain some economy, which'll slow your acceleration down a bit.

My mother has a 2001 kind of like yours and every time I drive it I come away feeling like I would have to make a conscious effort to speed in that thing. I think 1st gen Tacomas were available in two different 4cyl engines and of Course the 3.4lt V6. You probably have the smaller of the two 4cyls. If you have tried everything under the sun maintenance wise with out results I would think a cold air intake would definitely improve your throttle response.
