New bumper. All pro w/o addition of towing or side protector upgrade. I may change this in the future by adding those parts but as of right now it gives me the additional ability to snatch/tow from the rear.

Most of our group. All Jeeps and me by myself! :p

Side profile. I'm thinking I'd like to raise the front as I'm a little raked. The added weight did help bring the add a leaf down a little as that is what GAVE me the rake, but it's not too bad. Might just leave it as is so people don't get pissed w/ me blinding them.

Parked at the fire pit which I did not do. Probably should've.

Light bar install :D It's ebay but it puts out tons of light. Naturally there is flood+spot on this model. I have tint and will be tinting it and potentially my headlights if it isn't too dark. Looks like a mild smoke.

Parked at a black competition rock climbing location (photo fun fact: shot with a 50mm Asahi from the 60's on my A7)

Parked at the end of the day with my battle mud:

    Toyota brochure? :p

Or a little darker with direct sun:

Hey your sysfailur on Nasioc right? Sorry if I misspelled your username. I was on there for a while, just sold my 13 WRX hatch to get a 12 DCSB sport. I remember your build of the white sti, that's a badass car. I'll wait patiently to see how the Tacoma turns out. Also where did you get the Toyota decal for the tailgate?

Yes that is me! :D I can't wait to get her back on the road in the Spring. The decal is from ebay and unfortunately not the greatest quality so I'll probably be getting 3m 1080 wrap and having a friend cut a new one. It is fading in a strange way.

I appreciate the quality part at a great price! I am looking at skid plates next potentially in Spring :)

Man this truck takes me back to the days of Toyota trucks before the introduction of the Tacoma. Except for it being midsized this is how people bought them. 90 percent of the Toyotas on the road were regular cab 4cyl . If a truck looked 4x4 it was because it was.

I totally get what you mean and that's sort of why I've always wanted this model but a modern version. I think that my next vehicle to play around with might be a ~2000-2002 4Runner / Landcruiser / V6 Tacoma Access Cab. Girlfriend could use her own to drive around lol

Someone talk me out of it.... I am having thoughts of making the switch to a '14 4Runner Trail Edition! Monthly payment would go up $200 which isn't a big deal but I would gain so much. Here's how I break it down:

    Pros of switching:
    • Ability to tow my STi.
    • Ability to transport all my photography gear with better ease. It can be done w/ the truck but it would be easier w/ the 4runner.
    • Seating for many.
    • Locking rear diff that I'd have to pay for as an add on.
    • Leather (ok "Soflex") seats, heated seats, navi, screen, etc etc..... luxury out the ying yang. Power everything! (My truck has none of these)
    • Various electronic goodies: Hill Start, Downhill Asist Control, Crawl Control, Multi-Terrain Select.
    Cons:
    • Being larger is also a negative in my view. I do love the compact size of my truck. It gives it lots of character.
    • Additional expense. I'd be in for an additional ~$13-14k of loan. +$200/mo payment
    • Obviously no bed which I do utilize often for hauling trash, work tasks, photo work (gives me a nice raised vantage point.) I could climb up on top of the 4runner I guess.
    • Quite a bit heavier and I imagine worse gas mileage.
    • More customization options available via Tacoma. I was/am considering a shell customized to my particular needs.

I'm thinking that I will give it another year to see how badly I want one and also for the prices to drop a little more on the 2014 models. Perhaps a test drive would be handy too to put things into better perspective. I try not to rush into things and I certainly don't hate my Tacoma--I effing love it--but at the same time I should consider my options.

    Anyway shoot me your input.

    /endrant

I would squash that Idea, here's why. I think you could get most of those things and stay in a Tacoma. Think about it a DC TRD off road 4wd may be a better option. You get the locker, V6, back seat with multi storage power everything but seats and you don't have to lose your truck bed.

Swaying you away: You could get a cap for your Tacoma, all the electronic stuff in my opinion is something else to mess up or get in the way and you can swap nice seats in your Tacoma. Only thing is more seating and towing I can't help you with.

On the other hand, if its what you need/want go for it.

I'm going to sit on it for a while. I'll see how the next year goes for me financially and perhaps I'll make a switch, perhaps not.

................................................................ ...................... ..........................I'm also considering a raptor which would solve EVERY problem.

This is a nice clean little truck. I really like the colour. You've done a good job.

We couldn't get RC's in Canada, or I would have grabbed one too.

Thank ya sir! I'm on the fence with shell options but I'm looking at this potentially: http://www.4are.com/product/overland

I may nix the tool box and opt for a bit more storage. It's a real commitment though. Do I want to cover the bed or not?

I believe 18.55lbs. I think that this wheel size suits the truck being that she's just a 4 banger. If I ever supercharge/turbo it I will go with a larger tire but stay 16". From what I've been hearing by the time these damn tires run out of tread I'll have the loan paid and a supercharger on it anyway hahaha

I came across a 2nd Gen 4.0 RC 4x4 manual up here (imported from the US), but he wanted too much. It's gone now.

    Oh, well.

You got it. I think there's around 4-6" of space. I haven't really measured it but I can slide 80lb bags of mortar under it as I often do, and/or bricks.
