No argument from me there. Again, all depends on what you need of a vehicle. Just showing that the Ridgeline is more capable than some know or care to admit. If one really needs and uses a truck, then by all means, pass the Ridgeline. Of course, most folks who read and participate on forums such as this one should know that already.

Where the Ridgeline will triumph is on ice. AWD is, in general, much better on ice than 4WD.

This Ridgeline has the square bed so we'll see a lot of tonneaus and toppers available. That ups the appeal IMO. It's a real work truck now that doubles up better as a family truck than a Taco or the GM Twins. Plus some medium duty offroad capability.

The price will be important, but this thing seems like it will have a lot of cross-appeal - it's midsize, maneuverable, big cabin, nice amenities, good payload, secure storage galore in the rear cabin and the bedtrunk even without a tonneau or topper.

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
That black edition would look crazy good with that tires, now toss Turbo kit in it and voila... one helluva tuck. Way better than minivan rip off, barbie ride from Toyota. Atleast Honda engine does nt piss oil all over itself, unlikely to have hood vibrations, or drive line vibrations, and ..... no drum brakes or frame to rust.

I bet first person to order 2017 Ridgeline will be Tacobella.

I guess I can't blame you, if I had money I'd probably give up grammar and move to Hawaii as well.

It'll be the best heavy duty truck he's ever had I'm sure. All that lumber he hauls OR will really benefit from his Ridgeline ownership :p.

BlueD's ramblings are the only information I refer to when making a decision whether a vehicle is any good or not.

But, but then you would be a poser like me since I like nice jackets and regularly wear Arcteryx and Patagonia apparel.

    I agree.
You want to do hard off road, get a 4x4.
For many, a good AWD system would meet their needs.

Don't plan to do any hard core off road, lift the vehicle or add oversized tires. I like 4x4 or possible AWD for the added security when traveling down dirt mountain roads.

Though not selectable, this is the reason I got one of the last manual trans Outbacks. Mechanical center diff with viscous limited slip. Off topic, sorry, carry on.

I will say that Honda's AWD works great for what it's designed for. Snow, rain, ice.. All I experienced with my now oldest son's 99 CRV.. That thing in the snow was a fukking machine.. I was really surprised.. I've had a WRX as well, but this of course is apples to oranges.. Kinda like the Ridgeline and Tacoma.. Some folks here I guess just can't seem to be able to wrap their head around that.. The Taco is a great vehicle for what it's intended to be.. But so is the Ridgeline.. Friends I know that have them(2) love and swear by them..
