I saw those on Ebay back in May of 15 when I was looking for one to put in my Colly. I had safety in mind also when I purchased mine for $19.99 from http://www.seatbeltextenderpros.com/ those $10.00 extenders do not say anything about the safety rating in the listing. And I darn sure would not buy one from the link the other guy posted from Hong Kong. I feel confident my extender will stay fastened if I were ever in an accident.

I had my local dealer disable it for free on my tundra. Will ask again when I go for my first service in my Tacoma. You'll just have have to get lucky and get the right service adviser willing to do it.

This is what I ordered... https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00SDMJLQ6/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And it says this... Rhino Seatbelt Extenders are manufactured in an E4 certified facility to international safety standards means piece of mind.

That being said, the point of this, for me anyway, is to not wear the seatbelt and not hear the warning. So as long as it turns off the warning its functioning as intended.

Isn't it just two wires going into the latch? Depending on whether it is normally open or closed, it seems like you could just unplug it at the bottom, or jumper it - whatever is required. Where am I going wrong here?

never new this existed..just ordered on Amazon. i actually does two things besides killing the chime it positions the female end up just enough higher to latch. don't know about you all but sometimes is a pain trying to find the slot when buckling up. especially for those of you that have a jacket on. i have had passengers get in and can't find the seat belt slot due to being buried down so far.......

The seat belt extender is pretty cool, and simple.

I just ordered one so that traveling with my dog does not cause the passenger chair to chime.

    Thanks for the suggestion...................... Frank

I disabled my passenger side for the dog and groceries. I am a very high supporter of wearing Seatbelts.

Me, neither. Just don't like the noise. Seat belt is always used while moving.

Not all of us drive in the city all day, every day, cruising mall parking lots. My backroads and family property is fairly safe. Dying from not wearing a seatbelt isn't really of concern. Turning this off would be awesome for some of us who don't need a seatbelt while doing 15 mph out in the rural areas.
