You're only 47? I mean that's still old and all but I always thought you were 70 or so.

For me, the MT is admittedly a personal preference, but a joy to drive in this mountainous terrain; it's nice to be in control of the gearing going up and down the mountains. I also concur that it is a certain measure of theft protection. (Though, my 23 year old daughter reluctantly learned to drive a manual and now she never wants anything else!) However, why in blazes did Toyota use a 3.61 ratio for reverse in the 6-speed? It makes backing my utility trailer up my steep driveway a real chore without first dropping it into 4L.

I avoid that cesspool of sodomy like the plague. Not even part of Texas as far as I am concerned.

Im 23 and never thought i'd drive an auto, the right deal, color, etc fell into place and I ended up going with an auto. I learned to drive with a manual, which is few and far between with friends my age. If I had the $$ and not heeps of school loans I would have went with manual and bought new instead of used. I would say it isn't a dieing breed but an "exclusive crowd" I guess would be a good term to use.
