Went to Toyota to get a oil filter. Sales guy approached me and said "Are you here to upgrade your Tacoma?" I laughed and said "Well thats one persons opinion". Trade my 2000 for a new one? Haha yea right. Just thought I would share. 250K and still rolling.

How much did the CVJ axles run you if you dont mind me asking? I guess you could say mine are kind of like them with the high angle boots and the boot slide mod but eh! That one looks way longer than the other ones...weird lol!

Oh so you can sync your dash illumination with your overhead light essentially? I quite like that.

"Upgrade". Awful word choice. "Update" would be a much better choice. And certainly more accurate.

Anybody know if the ignition light or the glove box light can be retrofitted?

Also I was sure that my hazard button was lighted but now it is dark and I can't tell if it has a bulb.

Did any of you guys look up in your glove box to make sure you don't have the light? Mine was burnt out when i got it, and would have never known until I read something about it. It's impossible to notice unless you're looking for it. It's on the top panel under a little hinged louver thingy. Comes on with the headlights.

Exactly. I try to do my own work to my truck but if I really need help I talk to the people I really trust. I was lucky enough to find kegmedia living around my area and that made me meet his friend that works on everything on a truck. But I do agree with you, work is sometimes hard but worth learning so you can fix it if it ever messes up. And the simple things will save a lot of people money. Money that they have earned.

Lol. I would invest in a new one. Stereos don't last forever.

I hear ya. Dropping $100 on a couple of pods was a lot of moo-la for me. I went in on the GB a couple months ago, they're supposedly IP67 so I would hope that they are truly waterproof in a couple feet of liquid. I doubt mounting them to the hood would cause any problems. Not quite sure what you mean about "warping" the hood.. if a light gets snagged it'll rip of the mount/break/whatever but I doubt it'll take the hood with it. Even if the hood ended up dented it would just mean that my hood matched my driver's side door and fender(I'm a professional fuck-shit-upper.)

I couldn't give a fuck how my shit looks as long as it makes me happy and is functional. I let y'all know how it goes. I saw a thread on here where a guy used an antenna mount to attach his pods to the hood, I'll likely do something similar except slightly cheaper/easier. I'm thinking bolt+nut+washer+drill a hole in the hood for the win. I think the proper acronym would be BNWDAHITHFTW!!!!

    Adding to profile now...

That's the spirit! It almost makes up for your severe lack of lockers:D

I'm gonna need new boots sooner or later, so what boots do you guys recommend for a 2" lift? I was thinking about getting the high angle ones but don't know which brand to get.

And please don't drill a hole in your hood.

Part of the point of the bracket is to get the lights up so the hood won'tcut off the light.

WHAAAAAA??!?!?!? Well shucks I spose you need a new sig...

That adam sandler bit always has me in stitches when i see it. Why'd you leave the open/open crowd? We miss you!

I'm not 100% set on a mounting plan, but I don't see any downside to drilling into the hood as long as I get the pods sittin high enough.
