I'm may be stupid as hell as the information is probably somewhere on this forum but I have search the net and my owner manual and I can't find the answer.

I recently bought a 2016 Tacoma V6 and am going to get the oil changed by a "indy" soon. I supply my own oil (Mobil Synthetic 0-20W) and filters. My wife has a 3.5L V6 Lexus and I buy filters in packs of 6. The filter the Lexus 3.5 V6 engine takes is the Toyota 04152-YZZA1. I was told (by a Toyota parts man) that filter can also be used on the 2016 Tacoma V6 but then someone else said it takes a different part number. I looked all through the manual and it simply said 6.2 qts. but no info on the filter (unless I overlooked it). A search of Toyota on-line parts lists only the filters up to 2015 which I believe had a 4.0 V6. I would sincerely appreciate help with this..i.e..is this the right filter? Many on this forum have forgotten more about the Tacoma than I will ever know. My previous truck was a 4.6L Tundra and I used the TRD filters for it but gave them to the guy that bought it when I got the Tacoma.

Thanks for your reply-Bishop84. So does that mean I can use the filters I have? I'm assuming from your comment I can.

It sure does, they both use the same oil as well. The Taco has a much longer interval though.

Why is it that when I type in the oil filter # on ebay then ask if it fits a 2016 Tacoma it says not compatible.??
