I've always been a big fan of famous quotes and old sayings....For obvious reasons, the one that's stuck in my mind right now is "Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then".....I sure haven't done anything special to deserve this incredibly good fortune, but I'm gonna take it!

Just a few minutes ago, my wife broke down and started crying.....She's held that proverbial "stiff upper lip" throughout the weeks leading up to this. I really don't know what I'd done without her.

And our oldest dog, "Baby", a 14-1/2 year old Springer Spaniel/Papillon mix, hasn't been more than a few feet away from me at any time since this started. When we walked in while ago, she walked up to me, licked my hand, then went to her bed, laid down and went to sleep. Her work is done for now. She can rest too.

Good Morning! Damn Jim 60 mph winds are no fun don't care where your at!

Got a new lens for my camera yesterday, a macro lens. No flowers or insects this time of year LOL but can play with snowflakes if I get some time. Weather isn't looking so great here the next few days.

So much for global warming.... Going to enjoy the "warmth" today while we got it.

Cam this time of year almost every day LOL. Our Intranet home page has the temps for Jax. Fl. and Scottsdale Az. and I see them everyday. In the summer I think you have got to be kidding me, no way. I'm thinking where Rob is about perfect....

I grew up in Indiana...Used to tell all sorts of good Kentucky jokes. Then I married a Kentucky girl and moved here.....

So what does a divorce in Kentucky and a tornado have in common?

Someone is gonna lose their trailer......

Oh man... state rivalries can be pretty intense. Poster I once saw while watching a Michigan vs Ohio St football game (in Michigan): What's the difference between a bowling ball and a girl from Ohio ? You could eat the bowling ball if you really had to.

    Brutal.

I lived in Indiana for my first 43 years, and grew up an IU basketball fan. Then I went to Purdue. Oil and water.....

Worst rivalry I ever saw was Michigan vs Michigan St.

After 15 years of living in Kentucky, my favorite basketball team NOW is.....whoever is playing against UK......

Oh, do you know why they built a new bridge between Kentucky and Indiana?

So Kentuckians can swim to Indiana in the shade.

Do you know what they call good looking women in Kentucky?

    Tourist's......

Gotta give a progress report! I spent the past couple weeks getting myself in a proper frame of mind to deal with a week of misery. Everyone was telling me how rough this was gonna be. So when I woke up this morning after a great night's sleep, feeling just the slightest bit of discomfort, I'm walking around with one GIANT smile on my face today. No cath...a little bleeding yet, but not too bad, just a twinge of pain every now and then, and I've put the pain meds away already. The doc called this morning to check up on me. I asked him if he'd like to meet me for a round of golf if the rain lets up!

Nothing short of a miracle in my book!

My wife is on me about pushing it too fast, so I will take it easy if for no other reason to keep her from getting mad at me. But seriously, I could probably go back to work now. I'm off all of next week yet. Up side to that is, I feel like I can actually ENJOY that week instead of sitting in a chair, unable to do anything!

Funny, Bluegrass.... I just was just discussing an injury settlement with an attorney and poking fun at her client for telling the Dr his head cracked the windshield in his car and that his lower back pain was 10/10. The damage to the rear bumper of his 2001 Malibu: $400.36. Maybe you could give that guy a lesson on what is and isn't real intense pain.
