Be glad it's just the windows, and you didn't walk out on them and get injured, still sucks though... When they broke into my truck they actually messed up the door bad enough that I had to take both doors off and weld the front drivers side door check back on.

Sucks it happened. But really, there's not a whole lot for police to do at that point. Basically their job at that point is to just take a report for your insurance purposes.

I had a house broken into in 1987. They stole a few things, piled my Air Force uniforms on the floor and set them on fire and set fire in a couple other rooms. Whole house burned to the ground by the time the FD got there. Police told me they'll be back in touch... never heard from them again. Too busy giving out speeding tickets, I guess.

Remember a Jalopnik article stating the best mod/upgrade you can do for a vehicle is to park it in a garage. They seem to be right.

Different story yes, but goes to show you how little investigative work the police do in most cases. And what's the 80s have to do with it, it was a much safer world then than it is now.

Cameras are only helpful as a deterrent, in this case something fake might be the way to go. Cameras that actually record in a loop, with good enough image quality, are pricey and most of the time just because you see the face of the idiots isn't going to help you locate where they are at. There is a slim chance that police know the face, but that would be unlikely.

Disagree. You just didn't hear about it. Not as much info out like today. Crime was probably just as bad if not worse. Not saying all cops are great. Just saying in OP's case. There's really nothing to investigate. Do you expect a stake out, outside of his house? At most they could do is fingerprint. And if very lucky there might be a match. Now. They're taking that time to work on a broken into vehicle. Considering most citys/towns have limited officers. Doesn't make sense to me. You?

In the OP's case, there is probably little to go on, but they at least could give him the impression they give a shit. In many cases, I feel they bury them because they feel it's not worth their effort to pursue. Whatever the case, they should care more about how the public perceives them.

And if you're over the age of 30, I would be very surprised. I'm sure the vast majority of Americans over that age would tell you that this country is going in the wrong direction in many ways, including crime volume and severity.

I'm sure they were looking for anything they could pawn. Or maybe meds. Smash and grab. Deed done, and perpetrators GONE in less than 30 seconds. Do NOT keep anything in your vehicles you aren't willing to loose.
Sorry Man. Only good news is they didn't get anything.
