Welcome. Where abouts in SoCAL are you located?

Nice man. I'm over in the Glendale area. There's actually a somewhat big meet/camping trip coming up to Anza Borrego at the end of Feb. if you're interested. I'm going for at least 2 of the three days that people will be out there. It's be a good chance for you to meet some more local members, talk trucks, and wheel with lots of help in case anything goes wrong (it usually doesn't if you're careful and aren't showing off).

Well keep an eye out man. There's always people that want to go out for the day randomly and most are welcoming to other members that want to tag along. Gorman is fun and it's really close to us- perfect for a day trip and has a little bit of everything so you can try out your wheeling skills. But there's also Azusa and Holy Jim (Orange County). I wish this thread got more love, but I spend most of my time lurking in the SOLA, OC and 626 threads. If you see someone talking about going out, don't be afraid to chime in and tag along. That's how I went on my first trip and got to meet some really cool peeps.

 

Azusa is not really a place to off road fyi. You pretty much sit and watch with your bbq and watch ppl break there sh!$.

can anyone recommend a reputable shop in the 818 that can install a Detroit TrueTrac?

 

not sure about in 818 but if you can get to yotamaster they will do the best job. They strictly do toyota diffs and that is all.

that's the first crossing at the entrance. There isn't much water but the hole that was there is filled with mud and sand. Mud is deep
