So I see your headlights are broken as well, mine are broken on that same inner tab, I know how you run yours so it doesn't surprise m, but I gotta ask, what are you doing about the headlight/ rad support situation right now?

I still haven't used my Aerocatch hood latches as of yet but I highly suggest you swap out your retaner pins to steel. Those aluminum ones are weak I hear.

First i'm sorry about the slow reply. Have not even looked at my own thread until today.
As far as the core support is going i've done several things. Ive stopped drilled the cracks. Then i've sandwiched them in-between a thin piece of steel popped riveted together. In several places. I'll get pictures sometime of the repairs I have made.
I read the same thing about the aluminum pins. But I actually have access to an unlimited supply of the alumnium ones so i have spares as needed.

So how about the headlights and their broken tabs and all the flex the support still has? If you grab the upper support bar the one that runs along close to the mounting point of the hood, you can flex it with one hand no problem.

Even where the fenders mount or can you get away with just doing the support itself?

@Airdog did you have to modify the stock bumpstop mount to fit your secondary shock? I have the same LCAs and was just fiddling with the secondary mount seeing it it would work for my limit straps. When I got the bolt on lower mount on I was surprised at how close it was to the bumps and wondered how a shock would fit in there.

The Total Chaos hoop kit comes with a new bracket for the bump stop. You cut about half of the stock bump stop bracket off and attach the TC one. Its a bolt on operation though I chose to weld my on also. You can see it in the pic below.

Hi Airdog your build has been a great read for a newcomer to this website! I've enjoyed it thoroughly and had some questions regarding a couple of things. First is the wheels i know are procomp 7089 however which offset did you roll with the 0 or -12? Second would be did you ever end up getting a Cab Mount Chop or did i miss it somewhere in the thread? Other than that i look forward to revisiting this page since it pretty much inspired my upcoming build.

    Thxs appreciate the compliment.
Not sure what the offset was. All I know is that they have 4.5 inch backspace to clear the spindles.
I did do a cab mount chop when I got my 35 inch tires. 39193d104478a6ff17ce6ccdb85be3b3_dfbe77abd185fc791b87d8961d89cd2c8b7b8b3a.jpg

Gotcha on the wheels and cab mount chop seems like I'll get one early on anyways so I don't have to worry about clearance on some 285/75/16. Seems like everyone ends up moving onto some 35s at the end of the day maybe I should jump the gun early. I'm also guessing you did a regear? probably be necessary at that point to regain some power loss? Other than that you are the man! Hopefully you have been doing well and has the truck gotten some new goodies?
