It seems with 0* offset anything bigger than stock will rub.

@TacoMafia looking great man! Thinking of doing the same wheel/tire combo on my new TRD Sport (once it arrives). My 09 has 285s and rims without the proper backspace/offset, so I still rub with a 3" lift. Not doing that on my new one!

Thanks Sawick, I'm really happy how it turned out. My previous tacoma also had 285s and drove like crap. I had GY Duratracks and I have to admit no comparison to these new BFG KO2'S.

Same as I do, 285 GY Duratracks on 18x9 XD Cranks. Not a bad tire at all, but I did see a terrible drop in gas mileage and increased road noise.

Yes they are C rated, it drives amazing huge noticeable difference the BFGS's are suprizeinly quite on the hiway. The quality of the wheels is excellent and balanced out perfectly. Over all I'm extremely happy with how it turned out and well worth the money.

I was interested in the FN FX Pro wheels but after the two emails I sent over a week ago that went unanswered and two calls yesterday that nobody answered I am having serious doubts. I may go the Toyota TRD wheels instead. Disappointing because I like the look of the FN wheels better.

I really haven't noticed a difference I'm sure I lost a few MPG but I'm really not concerned. If I wanted great gas mileage I would have bought a Prius. Lol

That really isn't like Dustin there must me a problem somewhere. I bugged this guy several times and he was always quick to answer and in my honest opinion the best customer service I have ever had. The quality of these wheels is top notch even the way they are packaged for shipping is quality and to me that says lot. Plus the 8' width on this wheel compared
to the 7' OEM make a noticeable difference to me. You can't go wrong with either of these wheels. I am extremely satisfied with mine.

Ditto here. Im going with SCS SR8 wheels when they come in, plan B would be TRD Pro wheels. As I mentioned in post 62, I see no one has any comments.

That was the reason for my call and emails. Since I didn't get any replies I don't have the comfort level to move forward. Plus since they won't answer the phone and the rims aren't listed on their website it isn't like I can order them anyways.....

Well that's good. The theory was these rims with close to stock c rated tires shouldn't effect the mpg much

How does a load rating of a tire affect fuel mileage?

I understand that, but if the wheels are lighter and the tires are about equally heavier, wouldnt that point be moot? Personally I dont think its so much the weight but the air gaps in the treads that are more aggressive are less aerodynamic and if you keep the air adjusted up there is less drag where the tire and the road are.

as a closet wannabe engineer, I'd add the drag and loss may mostly come from tread profile. The bigger the gaps between lugs and the more square edge of a knob profile that meets the road, the more mechanical drag is created. Aero drag may play some part of it but not likely at speeds under 120 mph or so. If you drop wheel weight then add tire weight, those rotational weight numbers should be pretty damn close despite having that weight further out from the mass center although you may see a drop in your 0-60 times.
