I prefer Newbury over FYE. But I can never find anything at either store now. I guess CDs will go the way of the cassette soon. I rip my CDs to FLAC (free lossless audio codec). I still like having a physical copy though. Most digital music stores use lossy mp3s, or DRM Apple formats (I hate iTunes). So while I can, I will continue to buy CDs until I can find everything lossless online. My truck stereo doesn't play FLAC, so I use high quality mp3s. I'm sure I won't hear the loss in audio quality over road and engine noise.

I use to like the Providence and N. Attleboro locations. Warwick was pretty good too.

I don't think Newbury will be around much longer. They're going the way of Tower and Strawberries.

They closed the Cambridge/Fresh Pond location (<5 mins from my house). The Burlington, Natick and Nashua stores have all been moved from large spaces in strip malls to smaller spots inside the nearby mega-malls. So you can't just run over and kill an hour, now it's a full-on "mall excursion." Very few discs or comics, but now the go-to place for Star Wars Christmas sweaters and hats with faces and ears. (Although I did get a pretty cool Mr. Hankey The Christmas Poo ornament for the tree there.)

I still wander in to browse on occasion, but I've been getting most of my music from Amazon. I'm another one that can't stand poor sound quality, so I stick with CD's.

BTW - My first time butting in to this thread. Hey Everyone!

    Morning everyone

The Newbury Comics near me did the same thing, they moved from a larger store in a strip mall to a smaller store right inside Emerald Square mall. That was OK but now you walk in and it has less than half the music that they had when they moved into the new location. One good thing is that Newbury and FYE are in the same mall so if you can't find it at one then you can try the other because it's right downstairs. I do miss Stawberrys

Strawberrrys was pretty good (was owned by FYE though). I happened to be at Emerald a week ago. I walked into FYE. The CD selection is now just the back corner of the store. Literally half of what it was since the last time I was there. Newbury was much better before they moved into the mall. Also, I don't even think Best Buy sells CDs anymore.

We should all bombard there websites to petition the removal of the music out of the music stores. If I want a t-shirt or some other kind of novialty item I can always go to spencers, hot-topic, pac-sun, or zumiez

When I worked at the other end of Burlington Mall rd. I loved going in to Newbury Comics to get old cd's etc now I find them on Ebay or burn a copy from the library.

I don't have any except for a reman but Robertson's in Wareham has one for $85 or Chuckran's in Bridgewater shows they have one for $100. I could get you the reman for about $135, it lists for $265
