The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

I ordered a SR5 4x4 V6 Access Cab the first week of Nov. put a deposit down 500 the dealer told me 2-4 week wait to have the build date and the Vin# 6 weeks went by I started looking again found a off road fully loaded I ended up buying it I'm glad I spent the extra money and got the off road I changed the stupid drill with a SR5 black

 

Ordered mine 1/1/16 and the dealership just called me and let me know that they finally have a build date on my truck, 1/26/16. They said usually they arrive at the dealership generally a week after the build date sometimes even before. So far everything's gone according to plan and no delays yet so fingers crossed for everything staying on time. She couldn't tell where it was being built though.

 

Beautiful Truck !!! That Long Bed makes it look much better (just my opinion) I ordered the Sky Silver too.

 

I'm told if your temp vin starts with a 3, its a Mexico build, a 5 is the USA. I'm also told it's a 3-6 week delivery schedule in most cases, depending on weather.

 

School me a bit...about 'ordering' a vehicle a (say for instance), your trade-in.

So, you're at the dealer working up a deal that includes to trade your current vehicle but knowing you'll have to wait 3 months to get your new truck.

Is there ever any 'conditions' or changes in trade-in value once you pickup the new vehicle?
Just curious how that all goes down...What kind of deposit are you expected to pay to order?

 

Oh cool it's being built in the U.S. then cuz the vin starts with a 5. And oh dang do you know why delivery takes so long? This is ignorant of me but I'm guessing they don't just build it, inspect it and put it on a truck? Lol

 

up to now we have yet to invent a reliable star trek style transporter and continue to rely on those stupid slow trains and trucks.

 

Waiting on a Texas truck with a build date of 6 Feb, DCLB OR in Quicksand. Only addition was the towing package. I expect a delivery of early to mid March.

 

Drove through the parking lot of my dealer today, and drove by a 4door short box inferno, stopped and looked at window sticker and its exactly what I ordered. So I went in and the guy I was dealing with has quit...WTF!!!! So I asked for the sales manager and said I ordered a truck 3 months ago and it appears that its in your lot...He said oh yeah we been meaning to call you it arrived a few days ago....ARE U FUCKING KIDDING ME!!!!!!! Wel I guess my wait is over though, accessories going on Monday/Tuesday and picking up Thursday.....This has been the worst purchase of a vehicle I have ever experienced , and last year we purchased 5 vehicles from this same dealership...rethinking my future purchaces!!!

 

After two long months, the wait is finally over. The only issue, they ordered the wrong bed length! I wanted a long bed but do you think I was going to wait any longer? Nope. Proud new owner of a '16 Magnetic Gray TRD OR DCSB Tech and tow packages.

Now, time to break this thing in.

Ordered a Black TDR Sport DCSB 4x4 Premium and Tech without JBL on December 26th.

Heard from the dealership today. I have a build week of February 9th and was told to expect delivery the third or fourth week of Feb.

I have been watching this thread for a week now. Hope that I don't get delayed like others.

 

And she's arrived. Good luck to those that continue to practice the virtue of patience, wait for what you want, it is worth it!
The dealer got the lug nuts and step bars wrong, but they are making it right. Took off the TRD 4x4 Sport sticker. Short boxes double cab's are mystical in these parts so I figured I'd keep the guessing game going. Super-happy!

 

I ordered mine around 12/20. Worked out the price of the new truck and value of my trade at that time. I also put a $500 deposit down that was later used towards my down payment. Picked the truck up 1/14, so there was about 3 weeks from order until I got it.

The salesman never mentioned any conditions on my trade like miles or anything. Once my truck got in, we just filled out the paperwork based on what we already talked about.

 

Picked her up the other day.

Three weeks isn't too bad. I guess I had this thought it might take a lot longer (months). I guess that all depends on what you order and when they're building similar configurations.

 

My build date was 1/8, they told me 4-5 weeks after that. I was pleasantly surprised to see a text on 1/14 saying your truck is here. Under promise, over deliver I guess. I have heard some stories on this forum of people who were not as fortunate however.

After shopping for a few weeks, test drive etc. and getting annoyed with one dealer, I went to a different dealer on Dec. 7th. walked in, asked for the sales manager, we sat down and went over what I wanted, did the numbers and found my rig had just started production on Dec 4th. so I put a deposit on it, was told 3-4 weeks, it showed up on Dec 22nd. (15 days) went in, did paperwork and was gone in 1.5 hrs. TRD OR DCSB w/prem & tech, non jbl..

I don't understand why Toyota is taking 3-4 months to fill orders on these trucks?

 

Ordered mine two days ago from Mountain States Toyota and got a 8-12 week timeframe for delivery. That seems much longer than everyone else on here and I can only hope its a little shorter. TRD Sport DCLB 4x4 Tech Pkg w/JBL

 

I ordered a Tacoma in August from Haddad Toyota in Pittsfield, MA. When the dreaded orange dash ring made itself known I called the dealership and asked if a change was possible. Their response was "maybe we can paint it." I told them that wasn't going to work so I asked them to place a new order for a different truck with the graphite interior instead of black/orange. That was October 29th, 2015. I was told it would likely be here late December, possibly January. In early December I was told my build date was January 4th, late Jan delivery. On January 7th I called and was told I should wait until the 15th for "allocation information" to be available. Finally on January 16th, 78 days after the order was allegedly placed, I was told that delivery would be Feb 14th. At that point I called a few other dealerships to see if this kind of wait was normal. A nearby dealership told me "If you order today I can have it by the end of February." They were absolutely astounded at the 78 day wait. They checked the computer and were also puzzled not to see any MGM DCSB TRD sports coming in to the Haddad dealership. There was, however, a TRD offroad with those details.

I went ballistic. I called the original dealer back and discerned that they had indeed placed the WRONG order and that it would be ANOTHER TWO MONTHS to correct it. Every step of the way the communication has been non-existant. I feel like I'm trying to buy a kidney on the black market. At no point did I feel like this dealership actually wanted my business.

I started this process in August of 2015 and I'm not getting a truck until April, 2016? I'm losing my mind.
