650 miles into ownership, finally a weekend day I wasn't too busy and the weather was suitable to wash.

Washing your truck the first time is, in ways, similar to making love to a woman for the first time. As you get to moving around the body, you discover things you saw from a distance but now you focus on them and learn about all the little things that make her unlike any you ever had before.

What I learned about my truck today:
    - Man, this thing has some huge wheel wells. No problem keeping them clean, I could practically crawl back there and hand wash them. haha
    - Where's the break dust ? Very little. YAY!! And the wheel design makes them a breeze to clean.
    - Holy Jesus in Heaven, that is one humongous hood. Seems like it's half the size of a football field. Of course, I have been washing MINI Coopers for the last 10 years.
    - Forget trying to dry that grill. I will dry off the door jambs, the wheels and tires, and every inch of paint but that grill is going to air dry, spots or not. Of course, it's not long for this world and I'm on the search for a preferable replacement.
    - Unlike a MINI, which takes about 10 minutes to wash, this is quite an undertaking. But worth every minute, oh man... that black paint is gorgeous all cleaned up !

Haha... I always bring it in the garage and leave all the doors open for hours after washing to let it dry in all the impossible-to-reach places. Plus, it was suitable to wash in the afternoon because it's cloudy out. I'll get a good pic on the next sunny day, when the black paint shows the best, and post here. Should be Monday or Tuesday.

I'm with you on that CAM. I tried drying the grill and it is just as bad as the 15 Colly I traded in. You just cannot get every drop. If I had a leaf blower it would be easy to dry.

Yeah... I do have a pretty powerful leaf blower, I will use that until I replace that grill.

Didn't know washing a truck could make me feel so dirty after reading your analogy.

The truck is a beast to wash compared to subcompacts. Wait till you wax it. The hood and roof take some monkey arms to reach everything.

Yeah, I got one of these and it comes in very handy for the roof, the middle of the back window, and the middle of the windshield:

Your reading comprehension could use a little work... maybe in third grade they'll teach you that.

Nice! I need to invest in a better step. I'm using a 10 year old plastic step stool.

Do you have issues with water spots? I had issues with water spots on the hood until I waxed the truck. Not one since.

That step stool comes well rated and only $43. Good investment.

No water spots but I take painstaking steps to prevent them. I never wash when the sun is out. When I'm done with one body panel, I spray down the entire truck again so no water sits very long in the same spot. When I'm done, I sheet water over the body panels, that leaves much less water behind then spraying. Then I hand dry immediately, in my garage.
