What a great idea. You could run a black marker around the edges to hide the blue.

    Nice job.

Is this okay or to close to ammo?

I would be more concerned with dropping ammo on the bar and damaging it that heat coming off the rod.

There is ammo in my truck for my carry piece where it gets to half the temperature of the sun in the summer.

I agree. The only way that the rod will damage your ammo is if it were to somehow short out and catch fire, in which case you've got bigger problems anyway. :notsure:

Very true thank you. I'm looking to get a gun cabinet just for the ammo next.

That's the path I took. I had a little 14-gun as my first safe, then I bought my 36-gun and tried to sell the 14 gun to offset the cost. Didn't have any luck, which was just as well because I quickly ran out of room for ammo in my 36-gun as my collection expanded.
So now the 14-gun is used for JUST ammo, and the 36-gun is all boomsticks. I built a modular shelf into it (with Ikea as my inspiration :anonymous:) so that I could change the shelving configuration for when my 'stock levels' changed as I got new calibers or changed quantities.
