The 2020 Annual Citrus Meet!

Yea true!! 50+ trucks is the largest meet I've attended. Yea then we will hunker down at your site. Idk it's hard to tell how many people will be there Friday to set up and how man people will be coming in sat morning. Gonna be a great time it looks like, as usual I'll be pretty easy on the taco this time. But Lindsey might have some fun at the wheel.

 

I just hope they haven't fired up the dozer and leveled all the cool spots since October.

 

Yea that's true, been a year since I've been there so I have no clue what roads are what these days ha

 

I am asking for an RV site and it is onlymy family and I so only one vehicle. Your more than welcome to park your wifes car there. We Will be up there Friday night about 11pm.

 

We'll see how it all works out. I'm guessing the RV sites are going to be fully occupied with vehicles so you'll probably be sharing your site with another truck already. That's why I was suggesting if worse comes to worse, Lindsey might be able to park her car with one of the primitive campers that has the space. Otherwise, if someone is going to take the heat for having an over-abundance of vehicles parked at their site, it should be us. The thought is appreciated though.

I should say there's no guarantees if anyone gets an RV site unfortunately. It's entirely possible we won't have the campground to ourselves. Hopefully there won't be too many, but it's the risk we're taking so as to not give the FWC advanced warning that we're coming so they don't have time to lay on a ton of extra personnel like they did last year.

 

Yea I would prefer a rv site as most people would I'm sure. But I'll be prepared for either as it doesn't really matter for just two nights.

 

Cody is supposed to be there next weekend with an xterra group that is if we get his truck finished in time

 

I'm thinking that we should probably figure out who all is going to be there on Friday around 1100 hours and who is coming later. in the afternoon/evening. Those of us getting there early should spread out, one truck to a site, until we have the entire campground filled. Then people coming in later can start filling in the second slot at each site (unless someone particularly wants a primitive site). If you have someone you want to share with, you can save your second slot for them like me and Colson. If the person you want to share with is also getting there early, then still park in a vacant site, but set your gear up with your buddies site until someone gets there that can claim the extra site where your truck is parked.

How's this sound? (That way if any of them snobby jeep clubs or random campers plan to be there that weekend we'll have as many sites as possible tied up and they can move on to the primitive side. )

 

So are the site going to be prepaid before we arrive? I plan in being there Friday night about 11pm. Who would I have to see in order to settle the payment? Just want to make sure the person who is trusting is doesn't get screwed. Also on a side note, I have no problems with pin striping but I am only 2wd. I would also like a RV site as much as possible, Just putting it out there.

No, the sites aren't prepaid unless you're sharing with someone and then you can settle up with whoever your sharing with whenever. Actually, they are pretty laid back about it since they don't actually take your money directly (it gets put in an envelope and dropped in an honor box) so it whoever is there first wants to wait a bit until your site is full, you can just fill out the envelope and stuff it after your site partner is there to stuff in their share of the site. Hope that's not too confusing. I'm feeling a little flighty ATM.

 

So we basically come in, camp and then pay on the honor system? Pretty cool of the owners to actually be so trusting. So then who do we seeto know where our sites will be when we arrive?

 

The State of Florida is the owner.

You just pick an available spot and set up camp. There is a park ranger lady that drives through and checks to make sure everything is cool, but nobody tells you which site you can have.

If you know someone that's getting there early that you'd like to partner with you could set that up with them, like me and @TacoHell did though.
