Good for you for trying to help people out, but I'd hang on to it. CBs don't stay tuned forever. I check the tune on mine before every big wheeling trip.

Mine was like $18 plus a 3' section of coax. Not hardly worth the shipping.

Yeah, I had trouble with mine in until I figured out to clean ALL of the gunk out of the allen hole. After that it seated in there and came out.

Yeah, that's the worst part with mine, the frame is only 3 years old. Doesn't take long for these things to start turning to dust, hence why I spent almost an entire summer on and off rust proofing this turd. Then oil sprayed it and fluid filmed it after that.

I like your idea and would consider taking you up on the offer if I didn't own my own SWR meter. I use it often enough to warrant keeping mine. However, if local to me I'd be happy to let anyone barrow it. I'll even help tune an antenna if anyone needs.

I didn't do it. My dad backed his car into it last night. :-(

No idea what it'll cost to fix.

That should pull out well, truck beds that have large non complicated (not a whole lot of crinckles) dents are body shops bread and butter. That and painless removal. I hope they don't quote you too high.

Yeah, well, I want that repair invisible from both the outside, inside AND underneath. Like it never happened.

I'm just annoyed and depressed over it right now. I drove a total rustbucket 1990 Chevy 2500 w/ utility bed for 9 years. After many years, I finally saved up enough to buy a nice truck, and my dad wrecks it in 3 months...

Used the stock fender liners to fill in the gaps from my fiberglass fenders and bedsides. Just cut and sheet metal screwed them in. Came out nice, looks better plus will block out mud, rocks, cab noise.

So I had a cheap short rubber Wal-Mart antenna on my truck and the reception sucked. So I switched it out with a oem and even though is better, it's not working like it should. I get a alot static where I shouldn't. So know I'm wondering if maybe the radio is bad? Also when I press scan it goes to every single frequency instead of skipping ones that just have static. Another thought was maybe the bedliner messing with something...?

Yes. It's in the lower right of the gauge cluster.

Do you LED lights/bars on your truck?

Any aftermarket wiring where power supply wires could be running through the wire harness behind the head unit?

    ***Preface***

I am by no means an electrician.

I got my 20 inch bar in the mail the other day. Yes, its a cheapy, from China/Amazon. $36, its a good tester. I'm gonna pull it apart and reseal it with some silicone. While I am waiting for warmer weather to install, I started thinking about how I want to run the wiring. It has no harness, so, I was considering running it off of the fuse block for the headlights, for both dim and high beams. I plan on putting a yellow filter on it as well, for on road use in hazardous weather conditions, barring any state laws disallowing this. Can I simply ground the light bar, and run a hot into the fuse block? Would it be best to simply run a harness, and a switch? I suppose I could rewire my PIAA's after I get them mounted as ditch lights and have them on a panel of switches as well. I typically forget they are on during the day though, and it usually kills my battery...womp womp.

Just looking for all avenues of thoughts....
