image.jpg So recently went to get my 50" roof light bar installed and the shop that did it totally "Mickey Moused" it, which I learned my lesson. Took the whole thing off and wasted money on the installation. The brackets weren't even the correct brackets for my truck , they were "L" shaped brackets that hold up shelves or whatever (look at the picture). Anyways, when I do get the correct brackets, where can I mount them in the correct location?

Do your roof gutters have pre existing holes? If so there. That's how mine are mounted

Holy shit I'd be pissed if I paid a 'Professional' to install a light bar and they used half assed materials and then drilled permanent holes in my roof like that. Sorry to see your misfortune OP!

Only the Double Cab's will have the roof rack holes. The AC and RC do not.

If not then you will have to use self tapping screws and put it in the gutters

Or Rivnuts/Nutserts. More secure that way if you have a means to get the inserts set in the gutter.

 Wow that is a terrible job. Looks like they drilled directly into your roof. Your truck should have the pre existing roof rack mounting holes, which are covered by a white vinyl like material.

I had a shop out near me install a 40 on my old 2013 AC cause they said they made brackets for em and they ended up doing the same thing after a while I took the 13 back to stock and traded in for the 15 DCLB and just siliconed the holes they didn't even notice now I actually bought professional brackets for my 15

So on a RC, where would be the appropriate location for the mounts?

Wow. That's messed up. Care to mention the name of the shop? I'm no where near local but I'm sure plenty of us are. Would hate to see this happen again.

Name of the shop is called A1 Tires in Rialto, Ca. Yes a tire shop. That was my first mistake but I've seen them do other mounts that weren't like mine, so idk what happened there.

my dad put mine on on about 30 mins, two nutzerts per side and a few rivets for good measure. you have to be careful with the nutzerts cause if you drill the hole just a bit too big, you are screwed! if you need help, let me know now. I will volunteer my pop!:D
