Ultra Guage accuracy?

Anyone have an ultra Guage I want to know how accurate the readings are I lifted my truck 6 inches and put 35's on it so I want to see my MPG's and the rest of the readings are an added bonus also has anyone used the UltraGuage for your smart phone? Thanks in advance

I have the UG mounted on my dash and it is accurate to .1 mpgs. When I calibrated it I drove 4 miles for the calibration. Doesn't matter where I get gas at, I always do the hand calculation and it is always .1 from the UG.

 

+ / - (.2) after calibration - stock 2015 TRD Spt - 4.0 - auto

 

Torque is free, the dongle you need to buy isn't.

I want something that I can use with regularity, so I chose not to clutter up my phone with more stuff.

While I like my SCII's, I only monitor fuel for fun. I really installed them for other values that are not given by the dash, like V and coolant temp.

Fuel I still hand calculate regardless, which allows me to keep a running history.

 

I find that UG is about 1 full mpg off when compared to fuelly. I use both

 

Is it possible to use the torque bluetooth and my stero bluetooth connection at the same time?

 

I tried finding torque on the App Store with no luck, I've had dashcommand for a few years, but if torque is free then I'm always in to try it out and see if it reads for values for me. Any help locating the app?

Yeah I couldn't find torque on the Apple Store I guess I'll just use other apps

 

It's verry accurate if you follow the directions.

 

My ultra guage is within 1mpg as long as I calibrate it every spring and fall. The mileage calibration doesn't change much, but the fuel usage part changes with the summer and winter blend fuels. The other readings it gets come from the vehicles sensors and is accurate as they are.

Accuracy with a ScanGauge or UltraGauge on mph/mpg will change over time due to tire wear and/or change in tire size. It will also change on mpg due to variations in gas pump pressure and and pump cutoff. Best choice on calibration is to get the SG/UG odometer as accurate as you can over calibrating the speedometer. Can't do much about differences between gas pumps - could easily be a gallon or more difference on a fillup between different pumps.

 

Is this why my mileage has stayed the same? I went from stock 17 inch Sport wheels with Cooper AT3's to 16 inch TRD Bronze Beadlocks and Cooper ST/MAXX 265/75/16 Tires E Rated very damn heavy. And yet my mileage still says 16.8 with the change over. So how do I re calibrate it?

 

If you never calibrated it in the first place then it wasn't giving you anything verry close to accurate in the first place. The direction are in the manual or you can google your question.

 

If the tires are different sizes then yes you need to re-calibrate. If you never calibrated then you should. You also need to calibrate fuel usage. If you do those two it will be pretty accurate, but will lose some accuracy when the fuel blends switch from winter to summer.

The steps for doing the calibrations are in the manual and I guess can be found on the website. It's fairly easy.
