You measure the bar from end to end or from the end of the glass to the other end of glass?

Take your receipt, show them evidence of what should have been used and how it should've been used and compare it to the shitty job they did and demand your money back. If they don't give it back than set them a blaze on social media, yelp etc by sharing your experience and saving others pain

That install is just fucking bogus. That is why I do my research, buy the right products (thanks Relentless / APEX ), and do my own work. I don't let anyone touch my truck.

Christ, I'd take a cordless drill driver (and 6'7" buddy) back to the tire shop and install the L brackets on the tech's roof with self-tapping roofing screws, and tell him to go buy a fucking bar.

If you are talking about the dimpled locations, those are spot welds, not 'holes'.

I'm sorry the shop made such a mess for you. No offense, but it appears you're not a DIY'r, which is fine. But next time you go to a shop for an install, make them walk you through exactly what/how they propose to do the work and show you the materials they will be using.

I'd also get a body shop estimate for repairing your roof, and take it to them. You should get a full refund PLUS the cost of repairs for that total screw up.

Really, start looking things up before proceeding with any project. Use the search feature on Tacoma World and do your own work, or at least have an idea of what needs to be done, where to go, and how, before taking it to the band of howler monkey's like these guys treated you, 'cause I'm sure they were having a good howl after you left.

This is not a joke perpetrated on a wrecked vehicle, is it?

Well, that just bites the big one.

    Lesson learned, I hope.

I don't have the luxury of having members nearby, knowledgeable shops (even my Toyota dealer is as dumb as a bag of broken spanners), but I can read and I have tools!

Yup, look it up here if you want to know something, and if you can't find it.... ASK !!
