FYI a shackle flip will make your springs get softer as they compress. Compared to the inverted style you have now, where they get stiffer as they compress. Just something to think about.

I'm going to be installing the expos on my truck soon. I'll break em down and get some numbers to post in here. I have the ato shackle flip as well, so it'll be interesting to see what they'll do.

 

I will be breaking down my Deavers in a few weeks with the SOS shackle flip and 5" XJ shackles.

How much more height did you get get out of the shackle flip and xj shackles?

 

@ckeene9 has the D29 but doesn't use it in his set up, I asked him a couple of months ago.

I have the top overload removed on my dakars, a 10.9" shock travel would be perfect for them with a shackle flip from what I measured on mine. Unfortunately my shocks are 10" travel and are the limiting factor in droop so I'm relocating with a 12" shock.

 

I'm expecting an inch gain in ride height when I do it. I currently run with about 200lbs in the bed with my rack, Hi lift and full spare at all times. Which doesn't fade the Deavers. I will be a little stink bug for sure unless I want to add preload.

 

Should be closer to 1.5". 3/4" from the shackle flip itself then 3/4" from the 5" shackle (1.5" over stock height nets 3/4" lift), at least that's how I understood it.

Yea that's why I took my top overload out from my dakars! Don't carry much weight yet either.

 

Meh, I don't care if it stink bugs that much unloaded.

I gotcha. I'm ass high right now, but have 0 preload up front and am about to crank them up to be level. Was looking into doing a shackle flip here soon but don't know how I feel about being at nearly 5" lift in the back. I've got probably around 300 extra pounds in the bed as is between my tool box, full sized spare, and the wrap around bumper with hitch. Don't know how they're still pulling so much lift

 

I was just reading that 3 of the 5 rigs running TC kits finished the Dakar! 5900km in 15 days, that's just awesome.!

 

Feels better, the shackle flip made the leaves flatter (very slight arch) which the Dakar pack seems to favor in ride quality.I don't think removing the top overload caused a difference in ride quality but does allow the leaves to go into negative arch a lot easier! ride is smoother on bumps.

I knew you'd give my hypocritical ass shit for that. Hey, it was a temporary setup and $200 worth of shocks. I'll be redoing it sooner than later. Properly.
